We sat at the bar and Nilay took wonderful care of us. She was attentive and helped us select beers. Definitely have the food also. The flatbreads are perfect.
They have a nice selection of beer and varieties for all tastes.

This place has awesome food & beer! The staff is always very friendly. Right on the Main Street in Ambler. There is plenty of parking on the side as well! Definitely try this place. Lots of beers on tap

Everything was amazing! Bartender, drinks, beer, and food!

Our waitress is sad. Kentucky Derby and no mint juleps? I am sick of places not being able to make fries with no salt.

I have come to this bar for going on two years and literally every time has been a joy. The entire staff, from owners to seaters, are friendly and engaging. The food is always amazing (especially the Shrimp Tettrazini) and the drinks are quick, delicious, and reasonably priced.

I’ve had the most interactions with the bar staff, and they’re all absolutely amazing.

I quite literally recommend tannery to anyone I know, and will continue to!

As someone who works in hospitality and comes from the restaurant industry, I always try to lead with empathy—I know how challenging this work can be. I’d even understand if the bartender had been in the weeds when we arrived, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. She was standing there with no other guests in front of her, yet greeted us with no words or warmth, making us feel unwelcome from the start.

When I asked if I could have my drink without the rocks, she replied, “It doesn’t come on the rocks,” in a condescending tone. I clarified, asking if it was served “up” like a martini, and again, she responded with unnecessary attitude. She never came back to check on us. Thankfully, a different bartender stepped in to serve our second round—he was polite, friendly, and really turned things around.

At the end, when I asked for the check because we were splitting the bill, she appeared visibly annoyed. Despite the poor service, we still tipped 20% because I understand the standard—but frankly, it wasn’t earned.

I frequent this area often and have never had a negative experience until now. I can’t say for sure whether her behavior was personal, racially biased, or just a reflection of someone who shouldn’t be in this line of work—but either way, it left a bad taste. The cocktails were great, but the service has made it a place I won’t return to. I wish I had caught her name—she had dark hair with reddish ends and tattoos—for the sake of giving more specific feedback.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and spent a leisurely time over drinks, apps, and late lunch. We all liked our food and drinks. The fried food was crispy and cocktails were really good.

Food, beer and service were all wonderful. The smash burger was my favorite.

Great food and atmosphere! The beer cheese dip especially was so tasty. Will definitely be back!

Great beer, food, staff, and atmosphere. Solid main menu with new dishes added over the seasons, and vegetarian options too. What more could you want. It is also in the building that was both the first car service station (1911?), and an Acme supermarket in the 40s. Just steps from the iconic Ambler Theater.

Great food, service and beer! Trivia is fun too!

It’s apparent that the owner and staff take pride in what they are serving. What a gem in the heart of Ambler. Everything was delicious!
