Awesome flavors and unexpected combinations. I never knew I needed mint chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream until I went here, but now it's a favorite

Fantastic ice cream shop right on the main road. (Lancaster Ave/Route 30)Wide variety of interesting flavors...what is even more impressive are the clever (and sometimes silly) names for each flavor.I had the chips ahoy/cookie ice cream which was great. Great quality ingredients. Can purchase scoops from the counter or take home pre-packed pints from the freezers in the store. Reasonably priced for an ice cream shop of this standard.A few tables and chairs toward the back of the shop and a counter with some stools toward the front. Clean and well-kept space.Friendly, patient and helpful staff.Lots of metered parking spacing along the main road and in nearby lots. After 6pm is free.

I was really disappointed after looking into this place -- it looks like they don't offer a single vegan ice cream. I'll be happy to try it when they do, but sorbet is not an equal vegan alternative, it's a totally seperate offering that HAPPENS to be vegan.

Honestly, the ice cream is TOO sweet to distinguish the flavors and combinations. Go for it if you like your dessert like that.

Really sweet, rich ice cream that is the most amazing ice cream ever, hard to describe with words but it’s like a gourmet Ben & Jerry’s on steroids. So many creative flavors (one of the most unique I’ve seen so far is “Pepper Child” mango-habanero ice cream with peach jam swirl). It’s always hard not to stock up on pints. Since moving out of the Philly area a couple years ago, this is one of the only (food) things I miss from my hometown area.

I went in last night to try the ice cream there. I have heard good things about it. They said they only take cards!!! NO cash!!! What a letdown. To think that everyone is willing to charge an ice cream cone on their credit card or use Apple pay, etc. is extremely short sighted--especially when there are four other ice cream stores within three miles-Baskin Robbins, Kilwin's, Rita's and Pop's. And the upcoming Lu and Aug's (That makes 5). I took my cash and went to Baskin Robbins. I hope that the owner will reconsider this policy and realize that they have now cut out a significant portion of their market by not allowing cash, which will ultimately keep aggregate revenues at a much lower ROI than if they did allow cash! The world is not a "no cash" place yet. It may never be...

They dont have the soft serve here only at the other location which was a bum. Took a long drive to this location for the soft serve just for them to not have it. Staff was super nice thought and very apologetic.

Don't want to dock stars due to the amazing quality of product, but I feel the need to express some frustration: they recently got rid of soft-serve (which has my heart over regular ice cream) at the Ardmore location for poor sales because "no one ever ordered it." Well, maybe that is fallout from ONLY focusing and advertising Rittenhouse on Instagram?? For every 10 posts about what the flavors are at Rittenhouse, theres one post about Ardmore. Multiple people have commented on Instagram saying how they feel Ardmore gets the shaft/half the attention Rittenhouse does even though Ardmore is the OG location, and the response is always "Ardmore gets what does well at Rittenhouse" which I find hard to believe. Rittenhouse has all these mouthwatering soft-serve flavors that Ardmore never did, and I live in the burbs about 10 minutes from Ardmore /Rittenhouse's hours don't mesh with when I leave work, so I never have the chance to go. I just think if Ardmore got more attention and shoutouts on social media and people knew what flavors to expect that day or week, things might have gone differently. Now Ardmore is without delicious soft-serve, which is usually what I want over regular ice cream on a hot summer night.

Five stars for flavors and the taste, but it is a bit pricey for a single scoop. Toppings were reasonable, though, as was the price to add more scoops.

I ordered banana pudding and graham. Taste if pretty good. Giving it 3 stars because the other worker working at the moment has her friend and felt so uncomfortable them talking about people (ex's etc.) as if the lady isn't on duty. Kids should know boundaries of chitchating when they're on duty.

Ice cream is delicious and very creamy. Price is steep for what you get. $6 for one small scoop. Skimpy scoop, not the generous scoop you get at other places. Glad we tried it but hard to justify price for a family. We understand they use the best grass fed ingredients and toppings are free although that may have changed as they state $.50 on the board per topping.

Definitely an unique spot! Your experience here will likely depend on if you enjoy custom ice cream flavors.Their offerings are expensive & portion sizes are okay, so if you get more of a traditional flavor - you’ll likely be disappointed. With that said, branch out to try their weekly different flavors & you’ll be presented with a worthwhile experience. I’ve had a bubblegum creation here in the past that I’ve been craving again for months!

Excellent ice cream, especially if you want something out of the ordinary. It's pricey, $10 for 2 scoops, but worth a visit. I loved the coffee with crumble cake ice cream, while my girlfriend loved the blueberry ice cream with cheesecake chunks.Jeni's is still the queen of fruited ice cream for me, but I feel 1-900-ICE-CREAM gives Van Leeuwens a run for their money, which just opened in Philly. Some of the to-go pints sounded amazing. Unfortunately we had to travel too far. Will be stopping back, but only on occasion. The pricing makes it cost prohibitive, though the scoops are generous in portion.

Card ONLY NO ?Try all the flavors! A waffle cone is easiest to navigate the substantial scoop.? Getting a pint next visit.

The skimpiest ice cream shop I’ve ever visited, including a cone surcharge. You’ll put yourself out 7.50 for a small scoop of ice cream.
