We have enjoyed dining at Local for some time now. The food, atmosphere, and friendly vibe all make for a great experience.
We came back given a great first experience about 1-2 years ago. This time, a bit disappointed. The food was better than good, with a few quite interesting options, but not in the great region. Our table was very dark, and the waitstaff seems disinterested, tired. Wine by glass options were pretty good but limited from what I expect from a wine bar. Cocktails looked quite creative but we didn't try any.
The Local has been our "go to" place any time we need a reliably great dining experience. They have a roster of regular delicious favorites and they supplement with interesting fresh options. They have earned our repeat presence for over 6 years now.
I was extremely surprised by the food and the service. Our first time there. Every single thing we ordered was far above average. The Lamb lollipops were delicious and a great value. the mussels were unusual, in a sauce that was not a white wine or a tomato based sauce. They were plentiful in a fabulous dunk in your bread sauce. I had the crispy tofu which was flavorful. And the totaling with mushrooms was unbelievably mushroomy. The pear cocktail is great as was the rum cocktail. The price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Will take others there and plan to return. The servers were very knowledgable, nice and willing to make recommendations.
This restaurant is close to my house, and I love to stick to local places. Local, the restaurant, was really nice. Ambience is cool, good vibe. Our waiter was also cool, attentive, friendly. Food was very very good. You're eating real food. Healthy, depending on what you order, but well prepared with fresh ingredients. And some creative dishes. I enjoyed dinner here. BTW, big public parking lot behind restaurant.
We really liked this restaurant. Food was fantastic and the service was great. Will go back and highly recommend it!

Great place for a date. Had the gochjang clams and chorizo penne. Both hit the spot. Server and manager were friend and welcoming

A perfect little slice of Philly right in my hometown. The charcuterie boards and cocktails steal the show!

One of my favorite bars in Philly, definitely number 1 on the main line. Great happy hour prices and options. The shishito peppers blow my mind every time. I’ve gone there with co workers, on dates, and friends. Great vibes, warm atmosphere, perfect lighting, friendly and knowledgeable staff. 11/10 spot.

Food is delicious.. neighborhood gem One of those places you drive by a thousand times.. we will keep coming back
We always get an excellent meal at Local. It never disappoints. I love their concept of a small menu with portions sizes that are appropriate and not too large, serving fresh, well executed food that is perfect every time! Nate, our server, is always wonderful!
The server was not attentive, each of the four dinners arrived to our table at different times; the last of which arrived after the others finished eating. The servings were quite small; more the size of appetizers rather than meals. We shouldn't still be hungry after eating.
Best service & food in Ardmore! Love the wine tastings

I can't recommend this restaurant at all. The branzino was dry and the servers weren't even interested in refilling our water glasses. If you're forced to go, get the Brussels sprout. It's edible. Most importantly, it's annoyingly loud. They pump music into a small space without any dampening.
