Our server , Olivia, guided us through this journey of small bites and shareable plates that tickled our taste buds . Everything was wonderful and the desserts were the perfect cap to a great night
It was our first time at Local wine and restaurant in Ardmore. I have celiac ...so I was so happy there were good gluten free options . We enjoyed the Brussels sprout salad, chicken entree and egg plant. The server, Brittany, was warm, engaging and simply wonderful. Thank you . We will be back soon and frequently.
We were pleasantly surprised by all of our dishes. The menu first looked limited and unfamiliar, but it was good to push us to try items we normally wouldn't. The brussell sprout salad, with pomegranates, crunchy chick peas, spicy chili oil and yogurt dressing started us off well. The pumpkin bisque soup (accompanied by delicious grilled bread) and the Peruvian meatballs (with orzo, tomato gravy and fresh basil) both hit the spot. Some blue cheese from the cheese board selection was a great finish (it is nice that you can just order one of the cheeses in addition to the three cheese option). Our server was understated but proficient. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived at 6:15 but filled up thereafter.
My husband rarely says more than “it's good”. This night he said it was Fantastic. He had the NY Strip Steak. He said it was delicious. We also had the Brussel sprout salad! Amazing.
We really enjoyed Local Wine & Kitchen. It has a nice easy-going vibe. The food is served "family-style" . The Brussel sprout salad is very good with a delicious dressing (not your typical roasted, etc.); good shoestring fries with a hint of rosemary and tasty curry ketchup; pumpkin bisque excellent; the scallops were fine - nothing special. We preferred the tortellini (cream sauce) over the soba noodles (citronette sauce); chicken was perfectly cooked; the tuna was slightly overcooked (more than seared) but still yummy - I would have preferred a sauce with more of a kick. The still rose was lovely. Nathan, our server, was attentive and listened to our "critiques". We will definitely return.
Dinner and drinks with the girls!! Great place to catch up, enjoy good food, cocktails and friendship.
We have enjoyed dining at Local for some time now. The food, atmosphere, and friendly vibe all make for a great experience.
We came back given a great first experience about 1-2 years ago. This time, a bit disappointed. The food was better than good, with a few quite interesting options, but not in the great region. Our table was very dark, and the waitstaff seems disinterested, tired. Wine by glass options were pretty good but limited from what I expect from a wine bar. Cocktails looked quite creative but we didn't try any.
The Local has been our "go to" place any time we need a reliably great dining experience. They have a roster of regular delicious favorites and they supplement with interesting fresh options. They have earned our repeat presence for over 6 years now.
I was extremely surprised by the food and the service. Our first time there. Every single thing we ordered was far above average. The Lamb lollipops were delicious and a great value. the mussels were unusual, in a sauce that was not a white wine or a tomato based sauce. They were plentiful in a fabulous dunk in your bread sauce. I had the crispy tofu which was flavorful. And the totaling with mushrooms was unbelievably mushroomy. The pear cocktail is great as was the rum cocktail. The price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Will take others there and plan to return. The servers were very knowledgable, nice and willing to make recommendations.

This restaurant is close to my house, and I love to stick to local places. Local, the restaurant, was really nice. Ambience is cool, good vibe. Our waiter was also cool, attentive, friendly. Food was very very good. You're eating real food. Healthy, depending on what you order, but well prepared with fresh ingredients. And some creative dishes. I enjoyed dinner here. BTW, big public parking lot behind restaurant.
We really liked this restaurant. Food was fantastic and the service was great. Will go back and highly recommend it!
