If you are Black, don’t go to this place. A man started an argument with me and got in my face yelling and cursing at me. Some of the customers laughed and the staff didn’t say anything to him. Another guy walked up and accused me of being "aggressive" because I told the first guy to back up and put his hand down. As the only Black person there and only Black female… I felt targeted.

First off, I loved McCloskey's atmosphere. The open window, the lights, and the crowd were great, especially during the Phillies game. The problem came with the drinks and food. I ordered a Manhattan and it came in 2 glasses— the more normal martini glass, and whiskey in a double shot glass on top of ice in a beer glass. So then I had to mix together my own drink in a beer glass? The food was okay. The risotto balls were slightly overdone and the Thanksgiving Sandwich was missing the cranberry. My boyfriend and I both got sandwiches, which came with chips. Fries were a $4 upcharge. We both got a bag of Lays chips with our sandwiches. Last, I ordered one of their cocktail specials, the Cranberry Mule. It came in a short glass, not a mule mug. The service was spotty at best. Overall, either choose to be a pub with crappy food and serve Lays and beers, or choose to be a pub with a good menu that actually executes well. I wish the food/drinks were better because I really wanted to love it after I spent time in that atmosphere.

We are customers of McCloskey's for 25+ years; we'll come back. But tonight's service was atypical, frustrating, and highly avoidable...if the owners and managers would train their team and right-size their kitchen to manage their nearly doubled seating capacity with their outdoor dining area.

Several of the lowlights of the meal: waited 30+ minutes to receive our drinks, food runners carried water cups and food plates against their dirty shirts and then served them to us, entree Caesar salad with salmon served with appetizer without other entrees. We received app and requested entree salad be served with other entrees; we observed that salad was placed on shelf in bar area while we waited another 15+ minutes for remaining entrees. When served, salad was not tossed with dressing.

Food runner was sure to let us know she thought we were rude when we brought to her attention that how she served us was subpar, at best.

When bill came, not a single item was removed from the bill in consideration of the overwhelmingly poor service. We paid full tab and tipped 20+% in cash...not because of great service but because the servers, bartender, food runners and kitchen staff were only partially responsible for the failures of the night. This was overwhelmingly a failure of owners, leaders, managers who seemed more interested in profit over customer service.

Great place to grab dinner and a drink. With the warmer weather finally here the outdoor seating alley is back!

Parking: Street parking and large parking lot not far from the restaurant. Small fee but free after 6pm and on Sundays.

We just went to this fine histories establishment tonight celebrating our last night in Delco while back for a loved family member's celebration of life. Our food was a pleasant surprise to what I expected from a neighborhood pub. Flavorful and expertly prepared to my delighted taste buds. The young man who waited on us is a pleasant and enthusiastic addition to the experience here. So much good food alas left us with no room for desert. I always try to get me a tee shirt from the various pubs I find my weary feet entering but my hopes were dashed as the 2xl I desired was out of stock. My hope is that I can somehow get one when available to my Indio,Ca home ?. Thank you .

The food was good, but the venue was sardines-in-a-can crowded. The staff were nice, but overworked and therefore slow. We waited a long time to be seated, when there were seats available.

I hate sitting at the bar, you get to see the good the bad and the ugly. What I witnessed was the ugly. The bartender, who's name was Marty was totally gross. Eating behind the bar while working hand to mouth, coughing into his hand, sometimes not covering his mouth while coughing. Serving glassware where he put his fingers on the lips of the glasses where people are putting their mouths. He never washed his hands in the hour that I observed him working .This was just gross. I would not recommend this place at all

What a great little Irish bar and grill!. Ate here before a concert at the Ardmore Music Hall and plan on coming back! Had the Guinness beef stew and an order of Irish skins. Both were delicious! Drinks were good, too, and everything was reasonably priced. A lively crowd made for a fun atmosphere and our server (and all the staff for that matter) really made us happy we picked McCloskey's! Can't wait for our next visit.

We had a bunch appetizers (potato skins, mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, cheesesteak egg rolls) and they were all very good. The server was very polite and let us have a big table for our big group split up between the table and bar. We asked them to let us know if they needed to break up our big table and take any of the tables away, and they did, very politely, when it got more crowded. It was a very good experience. I will definitely go there again.

My husband and I went there because another restaurant had a two hour wait. So I suggested this place. We haven't been here since covid hit. We have loved it before and it's still good. Our young guy Steven is very good, and on the ball, he had great hospitality and workmanship when serving the other people and us. Will be back
