The owner/manager of this dive bar is an absolute gem! He is kind, compassionate, and just an all-around nice person. Example: we were there for a show with four bands: two had already played and the third was setting up when a young woman came up to the bar. She was wearing ear protectors (like industrial workers wear to protect their hearing) and seemed lost and disoriented. Although he could have turned her away or been rude or any number of things, he sat her down at the bar and tried communicating with her using writing, because she wasn’t speaking. He turned all the bar music off and stopped the show, then he called authorities who came with two cops and an ambulance to take care of her. He was just so good about the whole thing! And no one minded the interruption because we were all concerned that she could have been in real trouble! But it turned out she had walked from a resident school nearby and was indeed lost. They took her home and then came back to let the owner know, who kindly told all of us. We were so grateful to him for being a genuinely good person. I also noticed the way he talked to his employees was super respectful and accommodating. All around this is a good man and a nice, clean little dive bar that’s great to play at and see a show!

Tonight a disoriented girl showed up at the door of the rusty nail, unable to speak or communicate. The owner Mike immediately tried to get her help, was so calm and patient with her. There was live music and he postponed the show until this girl got help. I also want to give a shoutout to the police who showed up within 5 minutes and handled the situation professionally and with so much patience and care. The rusty nail is a true and safe neighborhood gem with great music from local and traveling bands and cheap drinks.

We received an update that the girl was identified and is okay

Good, divey, old school, rock and roll bar in Ardmore. Just the right size. Simple, no frills place to see local bands. Friendly service.

First time going and unfortunately our last. Drinks were very watered down. The bartenders attitude was poor. They complained to the owner who instead of apologizing he yelled at us. He got very defensive, then told us to leave, and that he would give us our money back for the cover charges but refused to when we left. I have never had such a bad experience like we did here. It's a shame because we went to hear a band play and never got to.

Good spot with friendly staff and fast service. The crowd is lively, and it’s a good place to check out local bands.

Don’t play at this venue. There is no sound guy and the person in charge rushed us when setting up I’m glad I brought my own surge protectors because they had none. Also they don’t pay you at all. I don’t care what the owner has to say I been playing shows for over 20 years learn to Ty a venue correctly and quit acting like you know everything because you don’t.

You'll see some surprisingly good music here. The Rusty Nail has picked up the baton, providing a stage for small touring acts after the pandemic shuttered some older original music venues in the Philly area.
