Loved my first show at The Nail. Coming from a VFW/Fire hall DIY metal scene The Nail has that nostalgic feel in a dive bar with amazing, kind staff, good bar food & its small enough I was basically on stage at my table while watching The Last of Lucy & Pathogenic bands I never expected to see that up close & personal. Chris the guy running the show/managing the venue was super friendly & helpful & made me feel at home after driving 2 hours from Lancaster....
The owner/manager of this dive bar is an absolute gem! He is kind, compassionate, and just an all-around nice person. Example: we were there for a show with four bands: two had already played and the third was setting up when a young woman came up to the bar. She was wearing ear protectors (like industrial workers wear to protect their hearing) and seemed lost and disoriented. Although he could have turned her away or been rude or any number of things, he sat her down at the bar...
Tonight a disoriented girl showed up at the door of the rusty nail, unable to speak or communicate. The owner Mike immediately tried to get her help, was so calm and patient with her. There was live music and he postponed the show until this girl got help. I also want to give a shoutout to the police who showed up within 5 minutes and handled the situation professionally and with so much patience and care.
