The owner/manager of this dive bar is an absolute gem! He is kind, compassionate, and just an all-around nice person. Example: we were there for a show with four bands: two had already played and the third was setting up when a young woman came up to the bar. She was wearing ear protectors (like industrial workers wear to protect their hearing) and seemed lost and disoriented. Tonight a disoriented girl showed up at the door of the rusty nail, unable to speak or communicate. The owner Mike immediately tried to get her help, was so calm and patient with her. There was live music and he postponed the show until this girl got help. I also want to give a shoutout to the police who showed up within 5 minutes and handled the situation professionally and with so much patience and care. You'll see some surprisingly good music here. The Rusty Nail has picked up the baton, providing a stage for small touring acts after the pandemic shuttered some older original music venues in the Philly area.
