Approaching Sake Mian, one is immediately struck by the parking—or rather, the lack thereof. This initial hurdle is a prelude to an experience that oscillates between commendable attempts at culinary finesse and the pitfalls of overambition. Sake Mian, while a bastion of friendly service and boasting an space conducive to group gatherings, navigates the choppy waters of a vast menu with mixed success. The restaurant's decor, a tableau of eras gone by, suggests a reluctance to fully embrace the contemporary demands of aesthetic and culinary trends. While this nostalgic ambiance has its charms, it also anchors the establishment firmly in the past, possibly at the expense of a more dynamic dining experience. The menu's ambition is as vast as the Pacific, yet it demonstrates the classic conundrum: breadth over depth. The Sushi Pizza, for example, sinks under the weight of its own concept, its greasy execution far removed from the promised fusion innovation. It is an underwhelming start to the culinary voyage.Conversely, the Dancing Eel Roll and the assortments of sashimi stand out as beacons of quality, showcasing what Sake Mian is capable of when the focus is narrowed. The Dancing Eel Roll, in particular, is a masterful display of flavors and textures, balancing the delicate dance of tempura softshell crab with the rich umami of eel.Yet, one cannot help but feel that the expansive menu dilutes the potential for truly exceptional culinary achievements. Each dish, from the Pink Lady Roll to the Ardmore Roll, though competent, struggles to break free from the shadow of mediocrity, suggesting a kitchen stretched too thin by its own aspirations.Overall, Sake Mian offers a dichotomy of experiences—a restaurant teetering on the edge of culinary relevance, held back by an overextended menu and an ambiance crying out for rejuvenation. For those willing to navigate the parking dilemma shared by other businesses, there are moments of delight to be found amidst the culinary misses. One hopes for a future where Sake Mian might refine its offerings, focusing on quality over quantity, and truly allow its culinary stars to shine.

The food and service were amazing here! My boyfriend and I went on a late night post workout date night here. The host/server greeted us with a smile, and came to take our order pretty fast. She asked us how we were doing, and we had a friendly conversation. She was great at giving helpful suggestions on what to order. The ramen is fantastic here! The sushi, pork dumplings were delicious! The bubble tea, and desserts were great as well! All in all, our experience there was amazing and I would highly recommend it! We enjoyed listening to the music that the restaurant played as well!

I'm sorry to write this review but I need to warn others!Unfortunately, this was one of the worst ramen experiences I've ever had. I went for the first time based on looking at past photos of the food - I had high hopes. I got the seafood ramen for $24.I was confused by what I got. The soup was congealed, like the consistency of egg drop soup. There were only a couple pieces of tough shrimp coated in black pepper, 2 overcooked scallops, 2 mussels, and a couple veggies. Mostly, it was soup and noodles. The flavor of the soup was not bad, and the noodles were okay, but it was not worth $24 at all. The highlight of the meal was honestly the side salad served as an appetizer. My boyfriend got the tonkatsu ramen and was similarly disappointed. For some reason, he received fried pork katsu instead of charshu pork (which is more typical for tonkatsu ramen). The soup tasted like a flavor packet from instant ramen.Service was okay. They took a while to take our order and get our food out.We did not try the sushi, so maybe that's better. But based on this experience, I will not be going back.

Honestly very disappointed~ food was overpriced. The most expensive Eel over rice Unadon I’ve ever had. Regular price is $22 this place is $29. Quite bland and the sushi was below average. Not sure why the rating is 4.6 - I don’t think I’ll come back

I have never been in person, only ever ordered. I've also always get the same thing. I get the vegetarian avocado and cucumber roll. it's delicious, great price point, and efficiently made.

Our usual place is closed on a Monday, but we were in the mood for sushi so tried Sake Mian and we were delighted. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and helpful, and my teens were thrilled to discover they served bubble tea as well.
