A wonderful Aspinwall gem with reliably great food EXCELLENT filthy martini w the best cheese stuffed olives! So cosy welcoming and delicious
Several service misses. When we walked in on time for our reservation we were initially directed to the table right in front of the door where we would be subject to gusts of cold air any time the door opened. We declined that, and were seated at an interior table near the window, which was fine. The service was extremely slow. Our waiter would disappear for 20 minutes at a time. At one point another person, possibly the manager, finally came to take our food order. Two of our party had to leave to pick up their kid from the babysitter before the check arrived, but even with that we still didn't get our bill for quite some time after they left. The final unpleasant surprise of the night was a 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card, which we were not aware of. Food was good, but I would not return due to the lackluster service.
Second visit to Cornerstone, and yet another great experience. The servers, hosts, and bartenders provided a very welcoming and personable atmosphere. The food, wine, and cocktails were excellent!
The quality of the food was good but the amount of food was lacking .

I consider this a “go to place” for a great meal, and it usually ranks a “4” or “5”. However, I must comment on my recent take-out service. Ordered several meals, one being the beef brisket tacos They were a solid “4”. The problem was one of the several dinner salads: specifically the beet salad. Despite the price, all that I received in a large plastic container was a paltry handful of greens with three thinly sliced pieces of beets. Edible in three bites. Very sad. If I was dining in, as I usually do, I would have laughed at the server and asked for the real beet salad. Or more likely, the servers, who are always great, would not even bring this to the table; realizing that someone in the kitchen made a big mistake.

We have never had a bad meal at cornerstone restaurant. Their seasonal menu rotates, but everything is always good.
The chicken pot pie was fantastic! It was great to have a reservation, no waiting, great seat location!

Food is ok but pricey wine selection stinks but the worst is the service! Plan an entire evening of just waiting for no reason what so ever. . Even if the restaurant is empty ( as was with us) you will wait a ridiculous amount of time for your food. Even dessert which is already prepared and ready to go. They are always busy doing something else or chatting and not serving you.

The creme brulee was amazing, good service, nice atmosphere. The burger was bland, and dry even though I had it cooked medium. The fries were excellent
I will acrually go back and try the steak salad, it looked amazing.

We ate very late. The kitchen was sold out of 2 appetizers that we ordered. After the meal the Manager came out with a to go container of another appetizer which was really above and beyond Always a great place to go
We went on a Monday and they must have been off their game. We had very long intervals of neglect. We had a party of 7. We had 4 of us order the lamb burger. After 45 minutes, our waitress came out and told us that they were out of lambburger. We reordered. 30 minutes later, one lamb burger came out, they gave it to one of our party. He proceeded to get a few fries and the pickle. The waiter came back, appologized, took his plate and said this was not for you and took it to the next table over. We were stunned. Overall, the food was good. The service was terrible. We wondered if our food had been previously served to other people before it arrived at our table. We were the for 2.5 hours because service was so slow.

My husband, daughter and I went there for dinner tonight. It had such good reviews and I truly don’t understand why. We walked in, and was greeted by a young blond woman who said “hi”. And I said “hi”. And then we stared at each other. She stared at me like I walked in on her in the bathroom or something. Then an older blond woman came over and asked if we wanted to sit in the bar. Because my daughter is 3 (and she was hungry), I said sure. So we’re off to a weird start. The bartender comes over, we order for our daughter, and we look over the menu. And then he’s gone for about 15 minutes. He comes back, takes our orders. My husband gets the penne, I get the squash. My husband asks if it’s spicy, the waiter tells him there’s a tiny bit, but really not that spicy. My daughter gets cranky (again, she’s hungry), and at most restaurants at this price point they put out a little nosh, so we thought there’d be bread or something on the table. My husband goes up to the older blond woman and asks for bread. He said she was a little curt with him, but I wasn’t there. I say to my husband in front of the waiter “would you split a root beer with me?” The waiter leaves. We’re confused, because we didn’t order a root beer, so we figured it was a crapshoot whether he was bringing it or not. He returns with the root beer and two frosted pint glasses. Which is very nice, but there’s no ice. Whatever, but a little annoying. 7 minutes later, the bread comes WITH her meal. Her meal is great - we ordered her steak medium, it’s a little well in places, but she liked it. So we wait. And wait. She FINISHES her steak. And if you’ve ever eaten with a 3 year old, you understand how long of a time that is. She eats her fries. We’re sitting there, our booth was next to the door - which stayed open - and at one point there were a million flies. The old blond lady says “oh yeah, they’re horrible” and walks away. Bizarre! 45 minutes after we’ve ordered, our food comes out - mind you - this was PASTA and a SQUASH. My husbands pasta looks gross, it was obviously made a while ago and stuck under a heat lamp. And they’d put some Parmesan shavings over it before it went under the lamp - so it was not appetizing at all. For mine, the filling, which was just mushrooms and spinach, was hot, but the squash was cold. My husband takes a bite - it’s super spicy. I try it, and they must have thrown peppercorn in by the handfuls or something. It was inedible. So we just sent them back and that was that. We told the waiter how bad this experience was - I give a LOT of grace to restaurants, especially with staffing shortages, but they had three people seating people. It took them 7 minutes to bring a kid some bread. Anyway, he apologizes, tells us we won’t be charged, etc. we say thanks. He disappears again, and we’re getting ready to go. He returns about 5 minutes later with a bill for our daughters steak. That was fine, but don’t say “obviously we’re not going to charge you, have a good night” AND THEN RETURN WITH A CHECK. Oh, and a $25 gift card. Like we’re ever going to return. Substandard would be too nice of a word for this place. What’s the absolute worst part, is the reason we choose this is because we wanted to walk over to the park. Because we ended up being in this crap house for almost TWO hours, the sun started setting. So we left, after two hours, still hungry, our evening ruined WITH A BILL. Truly horrible service and bad food (except for the steak & fries, they were good!). AVOID! GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
