Excellent food, great atmosphere right at the river. Also super child friendly - your kids can play at the nearby playground.

Editing my review after the owner replied saying that it was “garbage and rude”. I don’t feel as though my review below was remotely rude - I was transparent and honest and expressing genuine disappointment that something has changed. I understand that restaurants are struggling right now but consumers also deserve the right to be informed about the things they choose to spend their money on, so isn’t this the point of reviews? It was not an isolated instance that prompted our review, but a culmination of multiple sub-par dining experiences here recently. It no longer seems like Farmer Baker is having a “one off” day. I don’t appreciate this kind of response from ownership for a fair review, and a combination of everything is enough to keep us from returning.

We used to love coming to Farmer Baker. They were very friendly for food allergies at the beginning and the menu used to be very clearly marked with a lot of gluten free options- especially amazing desserts. Now the menu is never marked and the staff sound inconvenienced when I try asking what is gluten free. I got a “Korean beef bowl” the other day for breakfast. It was basically a steak salad with plain shaved steak and some eggs on top. It was definitely not at all what I was expecting, and it did not have much flavor. I ended up throwing most of it away. This makes me sad but something has definitely changed!!

A vegan friend of mine and I had heard great things about this place for a while so we finally were able to make it on a Friday afternoon when they were open.

We arrived shortly after they opened and it felt off since we walked up. The gentleman at the counter stated they just opened and are still prepping everything and opening up. Okay, no problem, I get it. We looked at the menu for a minute, expecting to see many gluten free and vegan items listed (based on everyone telling us this was a big focus for them), and we couldn’t clearly see any. So, we asked, and this is where it really gets weird.

The gentleman at the counter (might I add one of 2 employees there) had no clue what the menu even listed, had no recommendations, and almost seemed like he hadn’t heard the word vegan before. He even asked us how much the items we ordered were listed for on the menu!

The food luckily turned out tasting decent, but I won’t go out of my way to come back. We were very disappointed.

Bagels were horribly dry and stale tasting. Not worth the price at all.

Yes, this is a public comment from an unhappy customer. We didn't even get to try the food, the 1 star is for the service.

Here's the story.

We have heard great things about Farmer x Baker and have planned on getting out here for a long time. We live about 40 mins away, so today on a beautiful sunny day we planned to eat at Farmer x Baker and then enjoy a stroll by the river.

Knowing that our ETA would be 140pm and Google showed that they close at 2pm, we called them on the number (on Google and their website). Unfortunately, the number was invalid - "subscriber you have dialed no longer in service". Specifically, we were calling to confirm that they would serve us since we will be getting in near their closing time.

We got there and walked up to the space by 145pm. They already had a "We are closed" sign out, which is understandable as they are small place, can run out of ingredients etc which is why we were calling them en route.

In any case, I provided some feedback to the two people at the counter about two things. First that their google time shows open till 2pm but more importantly their listed number is not valid. My intention was largely to provide the feedback so they can update as appropriate so other future customers are aware that they could close earlier and have a way to reach someone to speak to.

Unfortunately, the man at the counter found it amusing to respond to my feedback in a sarcastic, mocking tone - which not only did I find disappointing but also a little rude.

With such disrespectful service, I guess we will never find out what their food actually tastes like. Bummer, coz we were really looking forward to it ?

I was disappointed to come back here for the season and taste a drop in quality of the food. Our sandwiches didn't taste freshly made. The location and vibes are still great, though.

Goat Rodeo bagel breakfast sandwich was good, though the toppings were sparse and uneven, especially for the $13.50 price tag. Lemonade was watered down with the fizzy water, maybe that was my mistake and the regular actually tastes like lemonade? The 40 minutes it took to get our sandwiches was spent watching the water- it is a great spot, I'll give them that! LONG wait for a sandwich though. I'm intrigued by the dinner options, so will try again with fingers crossed for a better overall experience.

Delicious ever changing menu featuring farm fresh ingredients and locally sourced foods. Lovely to enjoy a quick bite with outdoor seating along the river. Creative and tasty drinks and treats. Some seating is available under the shade of an outdoor tent.

Vegetarian options: Many menu items come with options such as your choice of protein including tofu as an option.

Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible from the parking lot following the drive to the right of the building towards the boat ramp. If you approach from the left around the back of the building there may be some steps and a narrow path.
