Birthday lunch with my husband
I am a little tough to please when it comes to steak and great food. I was pleasantly delighted with the lomo saltado. It was perfectly cooked to the temperature I asked for and the steak flavor was delicious. The chimichurri and amarillo sauce was the tastiest I’ve had and paired really well with the steak. I got rice instead of the fries and thought that all worked well. We got both the sweet potato fries and regular fries for the table. Both were so, so good! Wine was also good and service was excellent. Highly recommend!

We were staying in the resort and opted to eat on site. We ate here 2 nights in a row and enjoyed each meal. I ordered the Red Wine-Roasted Chicken both nights. It was that good. I got different vegetables each night rather than the mashed potatoes, there was no extra charge to do the swap. The 2nd night we ordered dessert. I got the Lemon Cake with Raspberry sauce. It was delicious, light, and very large. Two could enjoy this. We had Bethany T as our waitress the first night, she made us feel unwelcome. The 2nd night we had Claire B. What a difference, she was a refreshing change from the night before. The prices were high for the portion sizes, but it is at a resort and they tend to overprice things for the "experience." We would eat here again if in the area.
Overall it was a fun experience checking out the tavern in the Omni hotel

While traveling through Ohio and Pennsylvania on our way to Princeton, NJ, we were looking for a vegan-friendly place that stayed open late. Thanks to Happy Cow, we discovered this charming restaurant close to Bedford, nestled in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny range. The menu offered two appealing vegan options — a Beyond Beef burger and a flavorful coconut curry. Both were satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. The restaurant is part of a historic resort dating back to the early 19th century. Had we arrived earlier in the day, we would have enjoyed exploring its beautiful, sprawling grounds. We mentioned to our waiter that Happy Cow had led us there and showed him the app — which, surprisingly, many people still don’t know about! It’s such a helpful resource for plant-based travelers.
We were there for a business meeting. Atmosphere was great, we were able to talk without noise and interruption. Food was very good. Highly recommend this place.

We recently had dinner at Bedford Springs’ Frontier Tavern. While we’ve usually had great experiences there, this visit was a bit of a disappointment. For a starter, we got the Hatch chili nachos. they were good, but the queso was a bit grainy. Definitely acceptable though. I ordered the smoked beef and cheese sandwich, which unfortunately fell short of expectations. The sandwich was a bit of a disaster to eat, as the cheese came in the form of a sauce. The flavor and texture of the beef was decent, but the beef was thinly sliced and was reminiscent of Arby’s. The bread was very good.
On a more positive note, the sweet potato fries were excellent. It was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. However, the side of coleslaw was underwhelming. It looked hastily prepared, with the cabbage simply plated and the dressing drizzled on top rather than mixed in.
Overall, while the service and atmosphere were as pleasant as always, the food this time just didn’t live up to the usual standard I’ve come to expect from the Frontier Tavern. Usually, I am very pleased with my experience, so this may have been a poor menu choice for me.

My coworker and I were on a work trip across PA and were looking for a place to eat. We came across this place not understanding that it was part of an Omni hotel. With only a tshirt and shorts, my friend wearing an anime shirt, we entered the property and nobody even batted an eye to us not being dressed properly for the occasion. (Most were actually dressed in nice formal attire). We were seated and greeted by very kind service. Their burgers with honey on the side have to be #1 for the best burger I’ve ever had. We finished eating and found giant chess outside, played two games, and were on our way to where we were going. I highly recommend checking out this place

While the food was ok, it was certainly not worth the price in either quality or quantity. The food was poorly seasoned and poor value for money. Also, kids do NOT eat free this summer. The advertising drew us in, but it’s false.
Additionally, the restaurant is dirty. The floor is sticky, the tables are sticky, there are thick layers of dust on the frames of the wall hangings, and our booth seat had an old and dried out shrimp tail shell hanging out on it.
Our server was awesome and very accommodating - thank you for your hard work!

Flavors and cook were good on all dishes. Service was excellent, our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Atmosphere was really neat including historical items. Our server told us about the history and invited us to walk through the upper area of the original building while we waited for our food. Recommend.
