The quality of their food is excellent like no other restaurant that we are aware of around. A meal here is like a very clean meal that we would make it home. The food is very tasty and very satisfying.

Driving back to Washington, D.C. for a nearby retreat, we stopped at for lunch Horn O Plenty, a restaurant and market inside a quaint wooden building with an outdoor patio. Here’s our experience.

1) Food: Being a “freshraunt,” the menu includes better-for-you options, salads, and even gluten-free options.

I enjoyed the bowl of cream of mushroom soup, which comes with two pieces of buttered bread. (Ask for jam for the bread.) Despite being a bowl, it’s not super filling so the cheeses potatoes (beer cheese comes on top of the potatoes) was a perfect compliment.

My seven-year-old daughter appreciated the kids menu and enjoyed the grilled cheese.

2) Drinks: They have handmade sodas, coffee drinks, and more. If you have a sweet tooth, order the vanilla bean iced coffee.

3) Space: It’s well decorated, quaint, and the little market has some gems in it- maple syrup, pickled garlic scapes, “zing butter,” and more.

4) Service: It’s friendly, but slow. The restaurant had a healthy flow, but wasn’t packed and it took a long time for us to get our order.

THIS IS THE BEST MEAL WE'VE EVER EATEN IN A RESTAURANT. The menu has exciting, non-typical offerings – along with uniquely prepared standards. The 1/2 pound burger is DELICIOUS. The potato wedges & coleslaw – phenomenal & DIFFERENT THAN STANDARD FARE!

DO NOT MISS OUT ON HORN O PLENTY!!!
YOU DESERVE TO TREAT YOURSELF WELL AND THIS IS THE PLACE.
BRAVO TO THE OWNERS – YOU'VE REALLY DONE IT!!! ♡♡♡THANK YOU♡♡♡

This was a pleasant surprise while traveling from Pittsburgh to Fredericksburg via rt 30 (Lincoln Hwy). The food was earthy and generous (the lamb pita was very good) and the service was helpful but didn't rush us. The heated " outdoor" deck felt very much like being in an old stone springboks and the plants made it feel very alive. Will definitely be back!

Such a wonderful place. The garden is beautiful, kale, chard, nasturtiums growing amidst the flowers. Food was great, menu had plenty of wonderful options. We sat out in the tented area, lovely views. Busy, but not crazy. Staff was super friendly.

Quaint farm-to-table restaurant with delicious, healthy, and unique food options. We sat outside right next to the beautiful gardens. Service was great and the food was outstanding!

We stopped in on our way to Philadelphia and we were very pleased. The food was all good, we sat on the porch and took a little stroll around the garden. Only thing was one of our cups had lipstick on it and the waitress took it back and never brought another. But we had pizza, cheesy potatoes, Mac n trees, a garden salad and seasoned potatoes.

The roasted chicken salad was the worst. Maybe it was a bad day for the kitchen but for a restaurant that has review average in the higher percentile, one has to wonder if they are just going downhill. Been there, done that. Will head to the other tavern in the future.

Man it is so hard to find good food right off the highway, this place is absolutely great! Our group got the mushroom soup, pizza, hummus platter and the grill cheese and every dish was a home run! The bread on the hummus player was baked to order and the pizza Dough was amazing this place is a gem! Great vibe as well…. Oh yeah got some carrot cake to go and it was unreal!!
