Very nice, quaint and comfortable. Tavern has great food.
It's a bit off I80 but it was such a lovely treat!
My family meets here every once in a while because it's the halfway point between all of us. We've been going for nearly 30 years. Always absolutely wonderful! Bison burgers are fantastic, staff is just as great. Every experience I've had here has been perfect. Thank you!
Good service and the food was excellent and definitely going back for sure
Jean Bonnet Tavern is a charming and historic attraction in Bedford, PA. The tavern, built of wood and brick, is beautifully decorated for Christmas and offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The hospitality is exceptional, and the menu features delicious “grandmother-style” French and Italian soups, perfectly cooked duck, and fresh vegetables. Their signature hot drinks add a cozy touch to the experience. Overall, it’s a lovely place for guests to relax and enjoy a memorable meal.
french onion soup and bison burger... try it. thank me later
We stopped here for dinner in a Saturday night in December while in town for holiday events. I had heard about this place and had it flagged on my map. We did not stay in one of the rooms , we just had dinner.
We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly by a bartender, Eden. She gave us menus and took drink orders. She was personable and attentive.
We each had the New England clam chowder and we shared a crab cake entree. Really, the soup and a side salad were plenty of food and I could have had that and been fine. I had the house poppyseed dressing and liked that. The crab cake for me was just ok. It came with chefs vegetable and our choice of the sweet potatoes. The potatoes were good. I didn’t care for the vegetables either.
The atmosphere was casual. It’s a historic building to there is that old timey vibe and I think they have some ghosts here too but I did not have any paranormal experience, just going by what I read online.
The prices were comparable to most other places we go for dinner. Parking was easy - they have a big parking lot. There were stairs to get up to the tavern from parking.
I’m giving 4 stars because of the soup, salad and the bartender, Eden.
Horrible. Don't understand the reviews from others. Maybe the atmosphere distracts from the poor service and mediocre, at best, food

Food just okay. A visit is more for the chram of the place. Waitstaff seemed stressed and hurried.
I didn’t even go to your restaurant hilarious comebacks and completely inappropriate for any bad review that comes to your restaurant but I bet it’s all true karen

We had dinner here. It’s located right off the turnpike in 220. Pretty easy to get to food was good. Service was fine. It’s a historic old building kinda like the Dobbin house in Gettysburg. They do have rooms you can stay in. We did not stay in them I will say that it’s located pretty close to the turnpike. You’re not sure what the noise level would be like but definitely a good place to grab some chicken wings and a beer.
The tavern is very historic which makes it special. The service was fast. However, I am giving it only two stars for the food. The lobster ravioli was extremely salty and the fishy scent was overwhelming. The bison burger which was ordered medium and became more and more rare until he couldn’t finish it. I recommend sticking with water the wine was off
Great atmosphere, excellent staff, fair price. Definitely will return
We had a small 16th birthday dinner for our daughter today at Jean Bonnet Tavern. The food was very good (especially the bison burger), the staff was very accommodating & provided prompt service for our party of 6. The atmosphere, I’ve always loved. Our waiter, I believe his name was Devon, was very busy, bust somehow managed to stay on top of our needs. Good job!
We stayed the night to ghost hunt. Definitely had some activity, especially in room 3. Something was walking the hallway long after we went to bed! The restaurant has amazing food! The budling is super cool, rooms are cute and cozy.
