Great experience dining here!
Unique dining experience for Bedford, although food is just okay and overpriced in my opinion.
I discovered the LIFeSTYLE store a year or so ago and immediately wished I lived down the street. Since then I had to satisfy my need for high quality food products across a wide range (from condiments to pasta to panettone) by ordering online, including Christmas presents for my brothers. During my second visit IRL today I had a massive order for one brother's massively important birthday, and Kelsey went out of her way to be patient with my questions and requests for recommendations, and she also managed my gyrating shipping plan so professionally and gracefully. One of the owners, Stefano, was there also, always kind and gently suggesting, never intrusive. Of course I stocked up personally! P.S. Prices are reasonable, the shop is impeccable, the cafe next door has wonderful food, also.
First: please note that MANY of the negative reviews are not for this restaurant but are rather for the restaurant next door (a mostly lunch affiliated restaurant called LIFeSTYLE next door). You should disregard them.
This restaurant does fixed-price, multi-course, family style seated Italian dinners for an incredible price. The food was high quality, thoughtfully prepared and served with care and friendly attention. The setting is essentially just the store but with a large table set in it. The company was great in our case (your mileage may vary).
The chef was extremely accommodating in providing vegetarian options for us and all of the diners were pleased with their selections.
I strongly recommend this for a dinner while staying in Bedford (and certainly recommend it over the Crystal Room at the Bedford Springs resort, which costs much more for a lower quality experience).

Where to begin?
The charcuterie board was underwhelming - one cheese, one type of cracker, two meats.
The crostini were not toasted. They were French bread slices with a spread of red pepper hummus and. three olive on top of each. The pasta was dry and bland and appearing to have been under a heat lamp for some time.
The main was a choice of a fish in a red sauce-type stew or chicken cacciatore which was also cooked down in a red sauce stew.
When presented on the plate, they looked like a crock pot stew that had been made ahead.
The salad on the side was solely bib lettuce with lemon and olive oil.
We asked for salt because the mains were bland also. The waitress was annoyed.
We felt very uncomfortable because we could tell that she was unhappy with us.
The tiramisu was also mediocre with a sugar granulated texture throughout . Whole Foods has a spectacular tiramisu- much more authentic and delicious.
The expresso was luke warm.
Our family had a wonderful time even though the dinner was awful.
Don’t spend 75.00 a person for a meal that is not anything more than crockpot comfort food.

I really did not want to leave a poor review for this restaurant, but the experience I had today was very unpleasant. I understand during the Fall foliage festival it is busy. But this is also common knowledge a restaurant should be prepared for. By this I mean you should be fully stocked on ingredients or at the least update your menu to reflect or the ingredients that have run out. Or the bare minimum would be to inform customers of the ingredients that have run out after you pay for it and wait an hour for food.
Today I placed a fairly simply order with my three friends. I ordered the Korean bowl and they ordered 3 other bowls on the menu. We all waited about an hour which was expected and understandable. However what is not acceptable is when I receive my food and half the ingredients listed for what I order are not provided. All my bowl consisted of was white rice, beef, red cabbage and an egg. This was not a $16 meal and did not even look appealing. I immediately knew this was not what I ordered. I referenced the menu and explained that half the ingredients were missing from my food. I am informed they are out of 3 of these items including avocado, apple and green onion. I was informed they just forgot the mushrooms and was brought out of to go cup of mushrooms. I was not offered anything to make up for the other items initially until I had to ask. They then offered to cut a pear to replace the missing apple and that was all. I asked for Tzatziki to make up for the Avocado at least and she looked annoyed but ended up giving me the pear and tzatziki added to my bowl. The whole interaction was bizarre because I did not once receive an apology nor did the restaurant act like it was out of the ordinary for them to be out of the majority of their ingredients. In the end she acted like she was doing me a favor for giving me still not even as much as I paid for. I have been to this establishment a few times while in town and enjoyed my experience, but this whole situation rubbed me the wrong way. The bare minimum should be taking accountability and ask how can we fix this? The food i finally ended up with wasn’t to bad other than the fact that the meat was cold by the time I finally got to eat. I don’t think I will be returning.

My husband & I celebrated our anniversary there about 16 years ago and had a great experience. When I saw that the dinners were still being offered I booked a reservation for us to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. We were hoping the experience would not disappoint us since it had been so long since we were there - it did not disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed the food, it was delicious, and meeting the other folks at our table added to the fun and enjoyment!
The food is limited by what the chef(s) find for that day. But this ensures its freshness. The food is prepared well and served in decent sized portions. It is BYOB and there is no corkage fee. Thus, no difficulty or challenges navigating a wine menu and paying so much more than it costs retail. Will definitely go back in the near future.

Have always wanted to have dinner here and finally got the chance. We have purchased Olive Oil and Vinegars here in the past and they are great! Dinner was just not up to our expectations. First with all the reminders we received not one mentioned it was BYOB. Fortunately, about an hour before our reservation I looked at their website and saw BYOB. They also do not provide or have any mixers. You must bring everything and mix it at the table. We did purchase a bottle of wine to take and shared with our dining neighbors because they also did not know it was BYOB. The appetizers were very nice. The pasta was cooked perfect but needed more sauce. The steak was very thin and over cooked. The risotto was so salty no one could eat it. And I love risotto. We had a very nice time talking to the other guest on both sides. And of course we left with more Olive Oil!!

It was a great evening at Lifestyle. The food was delicious and the process enjoyable. Please know they seat you family style. It was our anniversary so we wanted a private table and they accommodated our request. The space is wide open so it's loud, but it makes for a fun atmosphere.
I'm really surprised the food hasn't improved over all these years.' Salad -one mushy crouton Pasta-over cooked; one tomato and one strand of argula My husband's-fish almost inedible The pork overcooked-and cold I doubt I will be back.
They had my reservation down for the wrong day. It was entered correctly on open table. Either way they were very accommodating. Their concept is really nice. The food was good but not great, and for the price I kindof expected great. Some of the meat was dry. Some of the pasta didn't have much flavor. It was a nice experience, and fun to try once. It might be better than many of the other local places, but I don't know if I would come back a second time.
My husband and I enjoyed the community table at LIFeSTYLE. It's always a fun evening meeting new people. However the food was underwhelming. The pastas had little flavor and a bit undercooked. My husband had the beef which he said was average and I had fish which would have been better without the breadcrumb coating. The young girl serving was very pleasant. I think it would have been nice if the owner explained the courses more and had a little more interaction with his guests. I also feel the meal did not live up to the $70/person price. Drinks not included.
We come to Bedford from Pittsburgh (90 miles) just to dine at LifeStyle. It's my favorite Italian restaurant with truly authentic and delicious northern Italian cuisine (the chef-owners are from Italy - near Milan). This is fine dining without any pretentiousness. There is nothing like it in Pittsburgh. The ambience is relaxed, friendly and cozy and the service is super attentive. I can't recommend it highly enough.
