Village News Restaurant and Pub is a nice local find for a quick, quality meal. There was no wait, and my food arrived promptly, with much of it clearly being made in-house.
It’s obviously a neighborhood staple, which is always a great sign; it’s the kind of place where you can count on the service being fast, the food being fresh, and the prices staying affordable. Definitely worth a stop!

Village News is a nice place to drop in for lunch or a tasty beverage!
This bar does not close when the website specifies. I arrived over an hour before the listed closing time and it was closed

As a vendor of the Fall Festival, we stop for breakfast each Sunday of the show. The sign says they open at 7am. Every Single Year we wait until at least 715 outside the locked door while the server goes about her duties setting up and watching us wait outside! Today was the last time! While we waited for her to put creamers on the tables eight by the front door, instead of letting us in and welcoming us as customers, she turned back around to the bar. We are done! Fortunately, we discovered today the local Moose offers breakfast! We were graciously welcomed and greeted with smiles!! Just want to let other vendors know there is a better place to support the local community!

If you prefer a nice, quiet evening that allows you to enjoy private conversations without all the loud music and chaos, this is the spot. Service is always A+, the beer is cold, and it's a great hometown bar.

Laid-back spot for breakfast, lunch, or drinks that looks and feels kind of like a diner and a bar at the same time. Friendly staff and locals.

The taste of their food was good but their customer service was too slow need to improve
This place rocks. It could only be better if it were a strip club.

Alec was a most enjoyable and entertaining bartender. Not a huge selection of beer but got the job done.

I am NOT a local but this place makes me feel like a local & I have always loved that. With that being said, there is one bartender by the name of Howie that is the most unwelcome worker there. People call into the bar to see if he is working ? Not only does he make his own rules when he’s working (reusing plastic cups, not serving liquor after midnight) but the worst is never leaving behind the bar. It’s awful when my family comes up to visit & we are sitting at a table and when howie is working I have to physically serve them myself. ie go up to the bar, get the drinks and return them to the table. He huffs and puffs whenever he works. Does not talk nicely to you whatsoever. (There have been many incidents of rudeness) I don’t know why he works there if he is so miserable. It’s SO unfortunate that I do not feel welcome whenever Howie is working. I will no longer be going if he is working, even though this has been one of my FAVORITE places in Bedford. I usually go for Sunday football! After hectic work days! Weekends & when I have out of towners visit but he has even been super rude to my friends I bring in…. I have spent A TON of money at this establishment. One bad seed can really ruin an establishment!!

The owner and bartender, Howie, picks and chooses who he serves, when he wants to close the bar, and will treat you with most disrespect a person can give. He is not friendly, often overcharges, and will cut you off after two drinks. They are over priced, rude, and yell at you if you don’t close a door by accident. I’ve gone there before a wedding with others and he yelled at our crew the whole time even though we were sitting outside not bothering the other patrons inside. We accidentally left a door open when coming outside and were screamed at. Meanwhile the crew probably spent well over $200 in the hour we were there. They don’t want business. They want a library. The owner, Lori, goes to the bar and sits on the end reading and yells if you’re too loud. Or she will sit there and talk badly about you openly. Bella terra is a much better atmosphere with MUCH nicer servers!

This is a nice little bar that serves food. It was a very hot and humid day, so I just had a salad and a Coke Zero.
