Discovered this gem on the Southside Arts Cocktails and Cookies crawl 12/7 and will definitely return. Knew nothing about mead but now know it’s delicious! we all loved their signature drink and stayed to try the other offerings. Definitely a must try.
My partner and I drove up from Philly to try out some meads and we were not disappointed. We ordered 3 flights which allowed us to sample a large variety , and each mead had a distinct flavour profile. The "Favorite Child" was my favorite, with its smoky and spicy notes winning me over to take a bottle home. The owner Mike was awesome, and was more than happy to talk about his mead making process and the business. My partner and I will be back surely. (*Also, just found out they Colony made the Wu Tang Mead, and that happened to be the first mead I ever bought, which got me wanting to try more.)
The Musikfest specials on brew are incredible! It's also nearly impossible to deny how awesome the semi-sweet cider really is! The customer service is top-notch & the atmosphere is cool & well decorated with local art & murals! ?There are also live events like karaoke ? ? held here so check the schedule & tell your friends! *DRINK AT THE COLONY MEADERY & BEE ? HAPPY?!*
Great mead
Colony Meadery provides a standout mead-tasting experience, highlighted by the exceptional customer service from Danica, who was both knowledgeable and helpful. Opting for the flight allowed me to sample a wide variety of meads, each distinct in flavor, making it a fantastic introduction to what the meadery offers. The cozy ambiance enhances the tasting, creating a welcoming environment. Whether you’re new to mead or a seasoned enthusiast, Colony Meadery's diverse selection and inviting atmosphere make it a must-visit destination. This experience is not just enjoyable but also an educational foray into the world of mead.
We stopped by about 30 minutes before close on a Saturday to try mead for the first time. We were greeted happily by the bar tender, and she spent quite a bit of time explaining mead, how it is made, and the different flavors and varieties that were available. The mead was tasty, and we purchased several bottles to bring home. (Buy 4 bottles, get a free bag!)We had a great time, and this super fun and chill place is a great stop on a Saturday night!
I had to stop by and try a few more varieties. I picked up a bottle of Wu-Tang Cran last year. Honestly, it was delicious, and I wanted some more. I tried a few more varieties and found some I like, and some I didn't. But that's okay. That's why I think it's a good thing to try a flight. Stop by and give it a shot!
