As we were traveling back to Vermont from Pennsylvania this past weekend, we came across Machu Picchu Peruvian Restaurant and decided to give it a try. It was around lunchtime, and the place was bustling, which seemed like a good sign, though we did have a bit of a wait before being seated. The servers mainly spoke Spanish, and with most of the menu in Spanish as well, I saw it as a perfect chance to practice my Spanish.
We started off with Tostones—fried green plantains—which were crispy and delicious, making a great appetizer at $5.20. For our main courses, I ordered Seco Combinado Con Arroz y Frijoles, a green stew beef served with rice and beans, priced at $17.68. The beef was tender, and the green stew had a fantastic flavor with a hint of cilantro that really stood out. My wife went for Lomo Saltado de Pollo—sautéed chicken with onions, tomatoes, fries, and white rice—also for $17.68. The mix of juicy chicken, fresh veggies, and crispy fries was well balanced and filling. For drinks, we each got a Soda En Lata Personal—a canned Sprite, at $1.56 each.
We finished with Crema Volteada, a Peruvian flan, which was creamy with a rich caramel taste. It was $5.72 and was the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
The ambiance in the restaurant was warm and inviting, with traditional Peruvian decor that gave it a cozy feel. The food was authentic and packed with flavor, and though we had to wait a bit, the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a memorable meal and a great little taste of Peru on our way home.

My husband and I wanted to try peruvian food. We found this location about 30 minutes from our house and we did not mind traveling. It was a long wait to be seated. The service was awful as they sat us and they didn't even give us menus. We waited at the table for about 15 minutes until somebody came over to take our order and I had to inform her that it was my first time there and I needed a menu?? We reviewed the menu and we're ready to order and we must have waited about 20 minutes for her to come over and take our order. We ordered two diet sodas and they informed me they only had one left. I proceeded to request a water then which never arrived. The food came in about 20 minutes and it was awful to say the least. The chicken had no flavor, the tostones were so dry and hard to swallow. The fish dish that my husband ordered jalea wasn't fresh and it was all just battered fish pieces fried. We do not plan on ever returning to this location as the food was awful and the service was not good and the wait was extremely long.

I tried Cau Cau, and it was delicious. You have to ask for it since it is not on the menu. If you like trying new things like tripe, go for it. It actually reminded me of my grandmother's cooking.

We love Peruvian food and eat it frequently at home, so we were thrilled to find a wonderful little Peruvian restaurant here in the Lehigh Valley area. We stopped late afternoon and ordered the Seco beef with rice. I don’t love the beans, so I had fried green plantains with mine and my husband had fries with his. Both meals were very good. And the portions are significant! The atmosphere is humble, welcoming and comfortable. The wait staff was great. In short… Machu pichu is a great little place that we will be adding to our route favorites.
My cousin and I were here last night, we both ordered the mixed lomo saltado. The meat and fries were delicious but unfortunately the white rice was undercooked. I didn’t say anything then brcwhse we were in a rush so I just ate the meat and fries. I was pretty disappointed to have undercooked rice.

The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were just right. I also really appreciated the thoughtful decoration—it added to the overall dining experience. However, the service could be improved, as the waitress wasn't particularly friendly.

Never had Peruvian food and I was definitely in love when I ate the food here. The server was so nice, the natural juices were fire, and the steak and pasta was amazing. I will be back!
