Smokehouse BBQ & Brews

We often have difficulty finding a nice restaurant where both my WFPB and his Omnivore palate can both be satisfied. Smokehouse BBQ was a clear winner. My Veggie Rice bowl was delicious and he enjoyed the Rib Combo Platter. We both brought home enough to enjoy a second meal.

I would highly recommend Smokehouse BBQ & Brews! We had a group of 7, with 4 having food allergies and sensitivities and because of that, most of us rarely go out to eat. But I am so glad we did try here after the nearby Sight and Sound Noah show! And its located only about 15 minutes away from the theater. Having the allergy specific menu clearly labeled and all laid out was SO helpful!! And our server, Mark was absolutely amazing! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu, options and even accurately explaining flavors of the food, he remembered all of our specific orders without writing anything down! And he went out of his way trying to help my daughter to try to find something she could safely eat. Hands down the best waiter we have ever had! And he was delightful and friendly the entire visit.
Our only disappointment is that we had wished there were a couple more side dish options that were dairy free and gluten free. But the food that we all did order was delicious, fair pricing for the portions each of us received and all left satisfied and full. If we are ever in the area again, this restaurant will definitely be on the itinerary.

Also to note: we had made reservations and were sat immediately. All the other staff we encountered were very friendly. It is a little loud when full because the main room is a historic open barn with high ceilings, but is still a nice space and atmosphere, everything was clean and tidy. And there was a nice country gift shop but it was closed because we left late and unfortunately couldn't shop.

The food and atmosphere are really good. Get there early because they close pretty early (bordering ridiculously early). We were there on a Friday night and closing time was 8! And it seemed like servers were trying to tear the place down for the night at 7:30. Lancaster County is not the place to go if you want any kind of night life.

First time eating here as a couple. The ribs were very overcooked and very dry. The pulled pork was pretty good, brisket was just okay. I think the meat is just cooked so early and overcooked it was just too dry. Food came out very quickly. Staff was very friendly. I would not go back, overpriced for the quality.

**One star for the moderate robust and respectful waitress!

As a frequent traveler to PA, I am always for trying new places and unique places, however one thing that I absolutely love to GOOD BBQ, I have been to a lot of places, and have had AMAZING BBQ and not so great BBQ and Smokehouse BBQ was that not so great BBQ, tried the burnt ends, like we were recommended and boy were those a let down, dried and flavorless! The meals came and I was excited for the pulled pork and fried chicken, the pulled pork was dry and chewy and the friend chicken wasn't even fully cooked, unfortunately. This restaurant is part of a larger conglomerate of restaurants, which over the past year of travelling here for business, I have noticed it has certainly gone down hill which is sad because I am loosing a lot of what was once my favorites to eat at! This place has a lot of potential, but they have to start by improving the BBQ, because it's just not there!

Our waiter/bartender Norberto one went above and beyond. His service was top-notch. In fact we kept commenting to ourselves, that he's doing the job of 3 people.
He was so friendly, poised and knew the menu. Norberto was able to point out some Good, night activities to do. I would highly recommend this restaurant and having Norberto wait on you.
