“This was something like my 3rd visit. It is an absolute must when coming to Amish Country. Make it a jumping off place for your exploring. The baked goods are amazing, the service is friendly, efficient and well thought out and the ambiance lets you begin to feel that you have really stepped away from your busy, modern life. Great for families, tourists or those who just want a to slow down.”

“We stumbled upon this gem at a kiosk at the hotel we are staying at and we can never turn down BBQ. 😂 the food was great, the service was great, and everything was fast, hot and perfect. Mark was our waiter and he was amazing. Not only is he a great server (i know because I worked in this industry), he’s incredibly kind and hilarious. We came for my birthday, which he knew. When I said no to dessert he asked if he could bring me a scoop of ice cream with a candle, to which I said “sure, but no singing!” Well when he came back to the table with another employee he loudly pronounced “on the count of 3!” Like they were going to sing and counted down then walked away. It was incredibly funny. Thank you, Mark, for making the night memorable!”

“Just had dinner at Bird-in-Hand Restaurant- the smorgasbord was amazing! So many choices! Everything was hot and delicious. The cheeseburger soup was very good! The homemade rolls- very yummy! Shrimp, ribs, mashed potatoes! Salad! I even had a mango slushy! Definitely the place to eat. Can’t wait to come back and try breakfast! Oh and dessert! Wow! Pies, puddings, amazing. “Dinner and a show. Everything on the menu is absolutely amazing. “The Show” happens when you sit at Chef’s table and watch them team create one masterpiece after another. I watched them train a new employee to do the same! Pinch and pull the dough- enough sauce, but not too much. Carefully and skillfully place all ingredients! final inspection before the fire and then another after. Watch for this and that before you serve. Pizza will. ever to the same for me.”

“My husband and I were on a small getaway and discovered this treasure. I am an ice cream lover and must tell you that this is hands down the BEST ice cream I ever had. My husband profoundly agrees! He wanted to go again before we left but it wasn’t possible. We’re already trying to plan another trip down just to go to Fox Meadows. Also, the staff was so friendly. “Spending three days in Lancaster, Passenger Roastery & Coffee Bar was by far the best latte and pastry I had while exploring the county. Popping in on a July Thursday morning, here's my experience.

1) Coffee: The menu is simple. They have the basics, but that's how you know it's quality coffee. My latte was perfectly balanced, creamy, and highlighting the espresso in it.

2) Food: Their ham and cheese turnover is excellent. They warm it up for you. There are fennel and a few other things on top making it unique.

3) Service: It's excellent! Both baristas were kind, efficient, and warm.

4) Space: It's small, but beautiful. There are a few seats inside and out and a restroom inside.”

“Our first experience at Gibraltar could not have been better. My wife and I had a 5 PM reservation, and when we arrived, three staff members warmly greeted us. A hostess escorted us to a cozy section of the restaurant, where the well-spaced tables allowed for comfortable, private conversation. Within 30 seconds, our server, Josephine, greeted us and offered us a choice of water. Bread and water arrived shortly after, and the service was impeccable from start to finish.
Cocktails - The house Cab is amazing. My wife said the same of her Grapefruit Margarita
Appetizer - The Spanish Octopus was delicate and delicious.
My entre - The Whole Branzino (fillet tableside) was excellent, and the skill of the gentlemen executing the filleting was exceptional.
Wife’s entre - Shrimp Spaghetti was a flavor bomb and the delicate garlic butter parsley sauce was perfect for bread dipping!
Shared dessert - Crème Brule to share was prepared with precision.

• Although the restaurant is full and busy the seating allows private and easy conversation.
• The food quality, taste, portion size & presentation is exceptional.

You can tell they’re incredibly well-trained—not in a stiff, scripted way, but in a way that feels genuine. They welcomed us as if they knew us for years and were eager to share the story behind the café, which made the whole experience feel personal instead of transactional. The food absolutely delivered. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. And the bacon? Honestly, next level. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor—easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere. This is one of those places that gets it right across the board: great people, great atmosphere, and food that actually lives up to the hype. We’ll definitely be back when we are in the area!”
