Been coming to the Bird In Hand Bakery And Cafe for many years and have always been very satisfied. I do believe they have the best Shoofly Pie in the area. The pie is always moist and extremely flavorful and stays for a number of days without refrigeration. The Whoopi Pies are also a real treat. Breads, doughnuts, buns and specialty occasions cakes are all wonderful. A must stop when in Amish Country. The only problem is living down the road from here. Not good the the waistline.
I cannot tell you enough how much of a must stop this bakery and café is while you're in the area!!! I will definitely say, the earlier in the day you get there, the better chance you have at finding an array of items on the bakery side, but even if you get there later in the morning or the afternoon, there's still plenty to choose from. We bought a large shoofly pie, mini whoopie pies, and sourdough bread which were all very good. The shoofly pie was especially tasty! The crumbly crust and thick, creamy molasses filling made this a delicious treat! Nice, friendly help in the bakery, also!
