Stephs Subs: The Review.

I don't know why I still bother coming here. I've given this place chance after chance for 10+ years now.

If it's not a sub made 8 different ways or soaking wet, then its 3 and a half burnt chicken fingers or a salad missing half its ingredients. Did you want that hard boiled egg? Too bad they only made 4 this morning for stock. We put two different kinds of OLIVES in your salad though.

If your fries are made correctly, guess what, inedible. They were great four years ago and then they decided to switch to whatever these things are.

I can't entirely blame the workers. This has to be a first job for many of them. Too bad that they lack any kind of front of the house training or common courtesy training. Let's just stand around and watch sports on the little TV in the corner all day.

Its also too bad that by the time anyone in the restaurant figures out what they are doing, it's time to graduate and leave Bloomsburg. There are no full time employees that have been there for years and actually know what they are doing. The business model is to have a bunch of college kids teach a bunch of younger college kids how to make subs, probably the wrong way, and then go about running the restaurant and the grill with zero experience. Dont bother getting a veggie burger unless you want a hockey puck on a bun. Chicken cheesesteak? Yeah we have that. (Proceeds to cube up cold chicken breasts into inch chunks and covers it in cheese on a bun.)

Trying to place a phone order? Dont worry, someone is standing by to answer the phone and put it down and forget about it for 5+ minutes. When you do get there, after 20 minutes like they said, only half your food will be made, and the other half is just sitting there, getting cold. Thirsty? Heres your soda with black flecks in it because nobody knows how to break down the nozzles correctly.

On top of that the kids they hire really actually don't care about anyone but themselves. They act like the entire building can't hear whats going on in the kitchen. We can hear you talking about scraping the chicken off and remelting the cheese. Thanks?

Also, continue to put everything in the smalllest available bag, like so full you cant close/hold it at all. That really makes it worth the trip uptown. Next time I WILL just eat a can of chef boyardee than waste my time trying to go park at Stephs for a wasted meal, wasted time, and wasted money.

All in all, for the people of Blooomsburg, who've repeatedly given you their business when they shouldn't have, I'd like to say IT'S A SHAME BERRIGANS IS CLOSED.

Vegetarian options: The veggie burger was cooked on the space shuttle thrusters 20 years ago.

We ordered two 12 inch cold subs from the online menu. When they were picked up the price was much more than shown the online menu, instead of $9 they were $15. My tuna sub was more celery then tuna. When questioned we were told that the online prices hadn't been corrected. I have no need to go back.

Go to Stephs quite often. This year I decided to grab a half turkey and half reg. TO GO.No one in line, just me, gave my order to the girl sweet pep on turkey, no oil on either. Watched her prepare them both, good thing! Told her 3 separate times TO GO, she started to put sweet pep on the wrong one so I stopped her. Reminded her again the were TO GO. When she was done she cut the first one in half and put it on a plateI SAID AGAIN. TO GO!!!!
They weren't even close in flavor to the ones we get in town. PLEASE TELL YOUR HELP TO PAY ATTENTION!
NEVER AGAIN!!

We go to the Bloomsburg fair every year almost exclusively to get Steph's Subs. They're amazing. Best bread I've ever had on a sub, they're soft and don't give you that overfull feeling eating bread tends to do. Beats Wawa hoagies by a mile.

I have been eating food from this place for over 55 years. My recent purchase was disappointing with very little ingredients added to the meat. We did not get much lettuce or onions. May make me think about going back again!

Only way to know you are in the right place is if you find the window that the name is printed on. No sign. Ridiculously expensive and bread was soggy.

stopped in for a sub before my haircut appointment. Ordered a Roast beef sub. What a disappointment. You can definitely find better subs in Bloomsburg.

Fantastic sub shop, Maybe even the best I've had. The cashier/master of the sandwich was really nice and didn't take long at all to make my food. It was super delicious and was well worth the $15 price tag for a whole sub

We haven't been to Stephs in awhile so decided to order takeout. I ordered a whole turkey sub and a cheesesteak. Both were tasteless. The turkey seemed to be prepackaged lunch meat. The fries were decent and the kids working there were super nice. Unfortunately though the subs seem to be going downhill. What happened to their fresh-cut lunch meats? Sad I had to waste almost $30 on tasteless subs.
