I got a half Italian, half roast beef. Both had barely any meat on them. Pretty awful. Will not be back.

I have to change my review from years as a 5 start to now, as I was there this weekend and was very disappointed, I knew it changed hands and unfortunately Ms. Steph has passed away, I wanted to give the new ownership a try when I was back in town, i was disappointed from the start of the phone order to the portions, the salad did not have sliced egg like before, and the sub seemed light on everything, plus did not get me my side of hot~! I will try again during fair week and we will rereview!!

For the past year or so we have continued to keep hoping for better subs when we order and we continue to be disappointed. I stopped doing subs and now get salads when my husband wants to try it again. Today he did a whole meatball sub and asked for extra meatballs (because they have gotten so skimpy)….One half had a 1 whole meatball and 2 small pieces. The other half had 3 meatballs (see pics).
I saw someone also mention about their subs being dry etc. We used to love the turkey subs but either they changed their oil seasonings or they don’t put it on at all because they have lost their flavor. This place used to be one of the best but not so much anymore.

Honestly bummed. I used to be a regular at Steph's till we moved. Was back in town and placed my usual order. The regular was good, but the chicken fillet sub was just a chicken tender on bread. Never had this issue in the past, so take that as you will.

Ordered for a delivery was on hold had to call back. Then took my order. Then they had me on hold a few more minutes just to give my total I ordered ham an cheese extra mayo , oil an vinegar light hoagie spread peppers. Didn't get any of what asked for. Driest sub I ever had. The guy on phone was very unprofessional couldn't hear half of what he was saying

Apparently, it is perfectly acceptable to keep a customer on hold for 10 minutes. Good food, but the children who work there just don't care.

Got a chicken bacon ranch. Got chicken tenders and bacon on a bun. No ranch. Saddest meal I have had in a long time XD

Ordered $70 worth of subs tonight. We asked for 1 out of the 3 Italian subs to not have spicy peppers on it. All 3 Italian subs had no peppers, salt, pepper, oregano, oil, or vinegar. Which on the menu it is stated that all subs come with everything unless otherwise specified. We also asked for a side of Italian dressing and that was not given. Disappointed in my order tonight. Usually everything we get is good. I order from here often when at wok, and just very disappointed with tonight. The gentleman on the phone seemed to have a hard time taking the order. They did rectify when we called, and we were able to drive back and pick up the peppers and Italian dressing…but annoyed to have to sit and wait for the rest of our order so we are able to eat.

Stephs Subs: The Review.
I don't know why I still bother coming here. I've given this place chance after chance for 10+ years now.
If it's not a sub made 8 different ways or soaking wet, then its 3 and a half burnt chicken fingers or a salad missing half its ingredients. Did you want that hard boiled egg? Too bad they only made 4 this morning for stock. We put two different kinds of OLIVES in your salad though.
If your fries are made correctly, guess what, inedible. They were great four years ago and then they decided to switch to whatever these things are.
I can't entirely blame the workers. This has to be a first job for many of them. Too bad that they lack any kind of front of the house training or common courtesy training. Let's just stand around and watch sports on the little TV in the corner all day.
Its also too bad that by the time anyone in the restaurant figures out what they are doing, it's time to graduate and leave Bloomsburg. There are no full time employees that have been there for years and actually know what they are doing. The business model is to have a bunch of college kids teach a bunch of younger college kids how to make subs, probably the wrong way, and then go about running the restaurant and the grill with zero experience. Dont bother getting a veggie burger unless you want a hockey puck on a bun. Chicken cheesesteak? Yeah we have that. (Proceeds to cube up cold chicken breasts into inch chunks and covers it in cheese on a bun.)
Trying to place a phone order? Dont worry, someone is standing by to answer the phone and put it down and forget about it for 5+ minutes. When you do get there, after 20 minutes like they said, only half your food will be made, and the other half is just sitting there, getting cold. Thirsty? Heres your soda with black flecks in it because nobody knows how to break down the nozzles correctly.
On top of that the kids they hire really actually don't care about anyone but themselves. They act like the entire building can't hear whats going on in the kitchen. We can hear you talking about scraping the chicken off and remelting the cheese. Thanks?
Also, continue to put everything in the smalllest available bag, like so full you cant close/hold it at all. That really makes it worth the trip uptown. Next time I WILL just eat a can of chef boyardee than waste my time trying to go park at Stephs for a wasted meal, wasted time, and wasted money.
All in all, for the people of Blooomsburg, who've repeatedly given you their business when they shouldn't have, I'd like to say IT'S A SHAME BERRIGANS IS CLOSED.
Vegetarian options: The veggie burger was cooked on the space shuttle thrusters 20 years ago.

We ordered two 12 inch cold subs from the online menu. When they were picked up the price was much more than shown the online menu, instead of $9 they were $15. My tuna sub was more celery then tuna. When questioned we were told that the online prices hadn't been corrected. I have no need to go back.

Go to Stephs quite often. This year I decided to grab a half turkey and half reg. TO GO.No one in line, just me, gave my order to the girl sweet pep on turkey, no oil on either. Watched her prepare them both, good thing! Told her 3 separate times TO GO, she started to put sweet pep on the wrong one so I stopped her. Reminded her again the were TO GO. When she was done she cut the first one in half and put it on a plateI SAID AGAIN. TO GO!!!!
They weren't even close in flavor to the ones we get in town. PLEASE TELL YOUR HELP TO PAY ATTENTION!
NEVER AGAIN!!
We go to the Bloomsburg fair every year almost exclusively to get Steph's Subs. They're amazing. Best bread I've ever had on a sub, they're soft and don't give you that overfull feeling eating bread tends to do. Beats Wawa hoagies by a mile.
