Paul (at the desk) was very pleasant and helpful before and during check in. He is a nice young man and probably deserves a raise. Rooms were very clean. The grounds around The Pine Lodge were not maintained. Mowed but not maintained. Recent trees removed and large pile of mulch were not the problems. Community refrigerator and microwave is questionable. Would suggest that each room have their own.

We had our daughter-in-law's baby shower at Allenberry a few weeks ago. We could not have chosen a better venue. Everything was beautiful. Allenberry is already a beautiful location, but the room, set-up, and all that was included was just as you would expect (and more) for a nice event. Kate was so easy to work with and offered lots of suggestions for the room set up. We were able to add personal touches to the space which completed the feel that this event was for someone special. The food choices were wonderful, but there again, the chef was more than happy to make changes for our event. The comments on the food were all over the top. Everyone had favorite dishes; and there was so much of it. Some local people attending who had not been to Allenberry in a while were so impressed with the food, they said they look forward to trying the restaurant again for dinner. Bottom line, though, our daughter-in-law loved it and felt very special. Thank you, Allenberry.

I made reservations a few weeks ago for Easter Sunday brunch for 6. The place opened at 11am. We were slightly early and eventually seated in the cellar. Yes. The basement. Next to the kitchen and near doors opening for others to be seated outside in a tented porch so it was cold with a stream of foot traffic passing our table. I wish I’d spoken up and asked for a table upstairs in one of the other dining rooms or even a table set for 6 in the cellar that wasn’t near the kitchen or the foot traffic and cold draft from the open door. The food was not hot and was average. I was tempted by the description of the French toast on thick sourdough bread but it was like normal sliced bread. The sticky bun was the best thing there. It was served warm and was totally delicious. I will try this place again in the future and hope for a better experience. The food sounds much better than the actual product. Everything was ok but I was expecting it to be much better.

Pluses: Very attractive surroundings (trees, river, lawns, fire pits, Adirondack chairs, games), good food at the cafe and restaurant. Negatives: For the $499 for two nights (NOT including breakfast) that we paid, we were surprised that there was no maid service and that the supplies for the coffee machine were not replenished. (And we were surprised that no coffee creamer was ever supplied.) Also, for any price tag, but especially such a high one, there should be a nightstand on both sides of the bed, not just one. The bathroom was clean, but the shower fixtures were old and rusty/dirty looking. The room was humid, and our clothes felt damp when we put them on. The swimming pool was nice and clean, but there were no towels available at 4 pm and no one there to supply them. A QR code on the table could be used to order towels, but you had to have a credit card in order to order your towel, and it's unreasonable to expect guests to carry credit cards to the pool. We went to the front desk for a towel but had to wait a long time for someone to show up. The shower in the women's changing room at the pool was really gross. There was often no one at the front desk, and you might have to wait a long time before anyone to appear, as there's no bell to summon someone. I enjoyed our stay, but felt that we overpaid considerably for what we got.

My spouse and I were looking for a quiet relaxing place to help ease the pain of losing our pet. This place was mostly it! Grounds are beautiful. Sitting by the creek was relaxing. The pool was nice with the shooting arcs of water (even with the playing children). Note for future guests: The Barn restaurant is not open Monday through Wednesday. We heard it was excellent and missed out on trying it. Pickleball Courts so bring your paddles. Some suggestions for owner: Our room has a kitchenette but could use a little table and a couple of chairs to go with it. Get rid of the suitcase tables. Too small & useless. Paint over the door and kitchen walls in our room. The writing comes through and just looks tacky and unfinished. Have the mowers not mow and blow leaves when people are relaxing at the pool. Super annoying. Shout out to Grace for excellent service.

This resort looks beautiful and I knew it as a young woman. Staying here was a bit out of our price range but a special treat. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. The room had no reading lights, the kitchenette was not functional, and there was no one available at the front desk. We were told by a staffer that they were very busy and short staffed. Unprofessional, no customer service, a huge waste of money and time.

I grew up in Boiling Springs and even worked at the Allenberry playhouse in my early teens. I was deeply disappointed with the accommodations and staff and management No lights bright enough to read by in the room No service for my phone even on wifi And as we were putting our cooler items in the fridge we noted a snake crawling around and a mousetrap under the cabinet sink No manager available because there was a " big event " going on Reply from front desk was that the snake probably wasn't poisonous ! That's it ... nobody cared ! A snake inside our lodge ! Omg - I don't advise anyone to stay there it's not well managed and it's shabby and I was completely outraged My husband asked for other accommodations but we were told there were none 6 hours later and multiple calls led me to a manager who said there were other rooms available! Terrible terrible terrible

Made our reservation for 7 for the Creek House well in advance to go fly fishing. Did a lot of research so knew a lot about what to expect before we arrived. Property was as advertised and Creek House had 5 bedrooms right on the creek with a great deck and huge kitchen and eating area. Very cool. Ok, not ACTUALLY cool. It was 91 degrees the day we got there and the Creek House was HOT, especially upstairs where 3 of the bedrooms were. Well, needless to say we had our feathers ruffled some since we all like to sleep in COOL rooms and it did not seem that the upstairs bedrooms would cool enough to work for that evening. So, we sent a posse over to the office and met Rene. We knew what we needed to “make it right”. We needed at least 2 more bedrooms in one of the other buildings so we all could have cool sleeping quarters. Well, she took us around the whole property, showed us everything available and gave us two king rooms in one of the other buildings that were cool as a cucumber. She really saved the day and we felt it was definitely a fair exchange that wound up working very well for all of us. Aside from that, the Creek House was clean, well stocked with basic kitchen needs, plenty of towels and toiletries and just an amazing location. The pool was great and we got a local fly fishing guide and literally fished in walking distance from the Creek House. The resort itself is a little out of the way, but it’s a unique and enjoyable property that has a lot to offer. Hats off again to all the staff, but especially Rene for doing what a manager should do, which is keeping your guests happy!

I visited Allenberry for a 6 person business strategy meeting. It was perfect. The meeting space was great - bright, roomy, and had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful and lodge rooms are comfortable and quaint. Laura made sure we had everything we needed. Lenny, the chef, prepared amazingly delicious meals just for us. James and Renee at the front desk gave us fun tours, made sure we had everything we needed for campfires and s’mores, kept us hydrated with water at all times. TCO fly shop helped us with a half day fishing. 100% recommend Allenberry as a destination for a small group meeting!

Wife and I stayed at the Stone Lodge. We didn't check the price (our bad), as we have stayed there many times. Expected it to be $200 or less. Lo and behold, we were shocked when we got the bill: $375 per night! Apparently the price jumps when there are weddings and graduations. I understand this, but $375 per night is unconscionable. They could have at least told us in advance. We complained to the desk worker and he said he would pass our complaint to the owner. But we never heard from anyone. A personal call or note would have been classy. Buyer beware. We learned a lesson the hard way. Apparently the Allenberry didn't care about our complaint. Never again. Charlie

Love Allenberry but don't think they were ready to have this portion opened. We waited along time for a server once we were seated (found out way under staffed), sadly we left after a 1/2 hour. Will try again :)

I very much enjoyed the music, but I would like to see more diversity in the menu. The menu at The Barn is great - you can get a lovely meal, or just soup or burgers. Had to wait awhile for dessert (over 1/2 hour), but the food was very good, but pricey.

A beautiful place to have a relaxing dinner, with a warm cozy atmosphere! The food was excellently prepared. Unfortunately the service was not up to Allenberry standards. We hope it was just due to a staffing issue that evening. We would recommend it, but be prepared for a potential long wait to be waited on and close out your bill.

We LOVE the Stone Lodge. This was the first time they opened Roast this year for entertainment. It was a lovely evening! In the future, it would be nice if the entertainment would play longer for all of us to enjoy! In the future, we hope they offer more options on the menu; i.e., healthier entree and appetizers as well as a lighter fare option once they get back to later hours of service with extended entertainment. Another man, not at our table, said he would like some gluten-free options. The items we selected were delicious but many were heavier sauced. The bread, as always, is wonderful!!!! We want to thank Heather and all the wait staff who so kindly served us on Friday! Hope to be back often to the Stone Lodge as well as The Barn!
