Great pizza. Really good crust. Well balanced sauce. A bit sweet, which cuts into the oilyness of the pizza well. Topping a bit pricey, but worth it. Definitely one of the better pizzas in the area. There's free parking behind the shop so you don't need to deal with metered parking.
I called on a Wednesday evening at 8:40 to order 2 pizzas and was asked if I could be there by 9pm (closing time). I told him I could not and to forget it. He asked what time I could be there and I said not until 9:10/9:15. He said ok - I’ll wait for you - and he did. I took home both pizzas and they were the best we have ever had from there. Though the pronounced sweetness of the sauce will offend some tastes, it is rather typical of the region—try, e.g., Norristown’s Corropolese tomato pie. At Franzone’s, acidity balances the sauce’s sugar, resulting in an agreeable agrodolce—think Sicilian caponata.
