Don Mezcal Mexican Grill

Ate here for the first time. Food was across the board delicious. The salsa & chips were very good. I had the tasty crab burrito. My lovely companera ordered the sizzling Hawaiian fajita (a spectacle!). The complimentary margueritas were nice as well. It was just a little pricier than the average Mexican restaurant but then again, it was far from average. The decor was pleasant, homey but clean and well appointed. The day of the dead skulls on the walls of the restroom were very cool. Must also mention our waiter, who was friendly & efficient. Will return and maybe this time bring some friends.

No liquor license...byob. They will give you free margaritas as long as you purchase a meal. I must say I thought it would be a virgin drink, since it is a byob, but it was not! WARNING...they give free booze with a meal! Booze aside, the meal was average with very little meat in the fajitas. It was a plate of onions with three tortillas. The chimichangas were also sparse on the meat and you have a choice of rice or beans....not both. Overall the food was average, nothing mind blowing.

We really enjoyed this restaurant that has a hip, updated Mexican vibe. The server couldn’t have been nicer. We liked that there were lunch and dinner menus, both with loads of options for the budget and for sampling. Everything by was fresh and delicious. We will be back to try more of the creative selections like the crab burrito.

Yummy Mexican food! They gave us a complimentary Margherita that was good. They do not serve alcohol here. The guacamole was very good. Also had the birria tacos and a pork dish that I really liked. Fast and nice service. Good prices and good portions. Great spot!

The food was very delicious and fairly priced. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The service was incredible as well.

We went to this restaurant for dinner based on good reviews. We liked a big portion of free chips as appetizer. The restaurant is pretty well visited that day. But unfortunately my husband and I both got severe diarrhea that still didn’t go away two days later. We both ordered dishes with steak. The meat didn’t taste fresh to begin with. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews but I hope my comment can help the restaurant to improve because my family does like Mexican food in general.

The food and service were excellent. If you can get past the host, who is a little on the rude side, it's well worth the experience.
