I am so glad that Spread has been discovered by enough people to spread outside of the city into several locations. I think Ardmore was their first Mainline location to open, years ago now. Montreal-style bagels are brushed with a honey and water mix and cooked in a wood fired oven. The combination results in a beautiful densely topped bagel with just the right amount of chewiness. The fresh cream cheese is also awesome. Simply Superior! They also now have a partner to provide gluten free bagel dough options, but you you have to order these ahead, so I am thinking these are more for catering.

We paid 57 for three bagel sandwiches and ended up with three cold bagels with spread on them. No where near what we paid for or ordered.

I just want to say that it is always a pleasure coming into Spread Bagelry in Bryn Mawr. Not only are the bagels always amazing, fresh, warm and totally made with love, the staff here never fails to and always greets everyone that comes in with positive energy, kindness and big smiles on their faces. The whole staff are the nicest and sweetest people I've met in the service industry, and especially for working early mornings! I always leave Bryn Mawr Spread satisfied, happy and with a smile on my face. The service here at Bryn Mawr Spread is top tier, and the employees always show and provide immense effort and care in everything they do. Monique, Donecia, Victoria, and Chris are especially amazing and are the sweetest, kindest servers ever! Every single employee here needs a raise for their stellar customer service, kindness, hard work, and positive energy they show every day! The excellent service provided, is what makes me come back every time - From a very happy customer

I only came here because Up-Ryes was closed and dang, wood fired bagels are not it people. If you’re from New England, you will be so ticked off eating these expecting them to taste like…regular bagels. Staff was super friendly though, my food was prepared quickly and the bagel was hot and made exactly like I asked but the texture of these things are wacky. Maybe I’ll come back for the open faced sandwiches

Had so much potential! Staff was great, wait was way too long for a single bagel with butter. Finally received the bagel only to find out they have 1 type of jelly that I'm allergic to! Never been to a bagel shop that didn't have other options especially GRAPE JAM OR JELLY! Well to my surprise once I tasted this 4.77 cent bagel I threw it in the garbage because it was DISGUSTING! Stale and no taste! The super market has better tasting bagels. I definitely know for next time! Sorry, not sorry. This place should be ashamed of itself!!!

Restaurantji Recommends
Very pleasant experience, bagels were nice and toasted. I ordered an avocado toast, was amazed oh how good it was. The cashier named Sherlybn was very helpful as well when i was indecisive on what to order. She had a warm smile and gave me her recommendations. My props to her for handling the long line all by herself.

This would’ve been a five-star review if it hadn’t been for the wait. Granted, we were there on Memorial Day morning, which can be busy, but having to wait 30 minutes for a takeout order still seemed excessive. The bagels, themselves, were excellent! One of our favorite features is the fact that their everything bagels, available in white, whole wheat, and egg varieties, had “everything spice” on the top AND bottom of the bagel. The jalapeño cream cheese was excellent, and two of our party loved the egg and cheese bagel sandwich as well.
Vegetarian options: Tons for lacto-ovo vegetarians; for vegans, they have a yummy plant-based cream cheese.

This place absolutely sucks. If you want to wait an eternity for your food this is the perfect place for you. They have no urgency and after waiting for awhile they forget one of my items. I only ordered two things.

The staff here is extremely rude. Is a longer story, so I’ll save the details but I literally just asked for more cream and they gave me this nasty look as if I was inconveniencing them. They made me feel awful. I don’t normally put up bad reviews but felt so bad after leaving there I really couldn’t not.Next time I’ll just stand through the longer wait at La Colombe next door. That place is awesome and everyone is so nice.

Place close at 2:30pm but they refused to prepare two lattes at 01:20 saying they need to clean machine.
