This Little Gem is one of my go to favorites, It has Never disappointed. Where to start- The Chocolate mouse cake is to die for, my all time fav , The Lemon pond cake scrumptious , and my go to and take to family of work related affairs is the Jewish

Refused to take an order when I called ahead for a pick up (was more than happy to prepay).... when I got there, they were out of the cake I wanted. Really bad business, lost a long-time loyal customer.

Never again. I have shopped at the Bakery House since it opened (yes, I'm that old). I have seen many "old time bakeries" close their doors. I remember when this store represented that old example of daily fresh baked goods. In shopping here over the recent years, each time I say "never again". To me the items taste like they have been sitting there for a few days. For Thanksgiving I ordered a VERY EXPENSIVE pumpkin form cake from the website thinking it would certainly be fresh. I did this because my cooking is not stellar, and I hoped the desert would leave a positive memory of the meal. When my cooking turns out to be WAY better then the desert something is VERY WRONG. First, it looked nothing like the picture shown on the website, but it was visually appealing. However, it tasted like it had been made many days before pick-up. It was stale, soggy, and rubbery in texture, not light, soft and delicate as I had hoped. NEVER AGAIN, and this time I mean it.

I really wanted to give them 5 stars for the cake but the attitudes & customer service ruined that. They are rude for no reason. Very unwelcoming

This place is a bakery Wonderland! I popped in for the first time looking for a vanilla/vanilla birthday cake. Not only did I leave with the perfect, cutest cake…I grabbed two key lime pie bars 😋. I haven’t cut the cake yet but if you made those bars I’m sure it’s delicious.

Paid over $34 for a small cake that was below average. This was my first and last visit to this business. Too much sugar in frosting and a poorly baked cake.
Stepping into The Bakery House feels like a trip to the warmth and coziness of simpler days. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate capturing the charm of days gone by. But what really steals the show are the naked goods ~ each is a masterpiece. Their cakes and pies are divine, like the caramel apple pecan pie, and anything pumpkin in the fall. But the Jewish apple cake is on a whole other level. It's hands down the best I have ever had...so moist and with flavors so rich and satisfying that it consistently surpasses every expectation. Everything here is out of this world, including their chicken salad. If you haven't been there (recently), do yourself, your family, and guests, a favor and experience this gem at 604 W.. Lancaster Ave in Bryn Mawr.

I wanted to love this place as small bakeries are about as rare as unicorns. When my sister and I found this and read previous reviews, we decided to drive from Doylestown to check it out. The first time we went, despite the crazy claustrophobic atmosphere, we left with an assortment of pies, cookies and bars. Our families loved the pies, so we thought we had found a gem. The second time we made the trip, we had bad service and left without one of the items that we had ordered/purchased. We were on the fence about how it was handled until the owner or perhaps manager reached out, apologized and mailed us a small gift card. The fact that she called and followed up is what made us try it again. We went a third time to buy more pies and other baked goods that have had positive reviews….it was all underwhelming and not as good as that first time we had the pie.
We went last weekend, during what was an incredibly hectic weekend due to the Jewish holiday, which we forgot about and had the worst service! When we drove back home to try the baked goods, the Jewish Apple cake that we bought was undercooked. The entire cake was inedible and disgusting. There was globs of raw dough that when you sliced the cake, smeared on the knife and your fingers. When I reached out to the bakery house about the undercooked cake. I was told that the manager would reach out to me and follow up. The girl who answered the phone was kind and said that he would be back Tuesday and would want to know about it. I even shared with the girl that I had wrapped and saved a couple slices for them to see as I did not want to save the entire cake.
Needless to say, the week passed as did the wknd and now Monday evening I am leaving review. My family is willing to drive miles and spend@ $50 dollars per cake or pie if it is delicious. This is not about personal taste, if the product is so raw that you can taste the grainy flour, you would expect a phone call if nothing else.
At this point with the lack of customer service and cost, I would happily pay people $50 to not go and waste their time or money….find another place

My family has gone to the Bakery House for many years for birthday cakes and rogue treats and every single thing they make is outstanding. They converted my chocolate-loving father into a vanilla cake enthusiast. From their lemon bars to their pies and cakes...unreal.
My husband and I used the Bakery House for our recent wedding and I worked closely with Kelly. She was incredibly kind, helpful, engaged, and dedicated to making sure our cake was delicious and beautiful. I felt like she went above and beyond for me. We know where to go for next big event or for our next treat!

I ordered my wedding cake from the bakery house a couple weeks in advance and it was supposed to be a 3 tier white cake. $600+ dollars and delivered. I received the wrong cake on my wedding day. The cake had “happy 80th birthday” written on it and was a yellow color that is not my taste. Although they did not charge me for the cake I was still a bit disappointed since my wedding was small and was hoping the details would be memorable. I
