Nothing special. Nice location but the food was all very dry and flavorless. The waiter was inattentive despite the place being close to empty. He also never mentioned the daily special, despite ordering a similar item. And you only see the special if you're reading the chalkboard behind the bar.

Very good food. Very attentive staff. Removed one star because of the music.

Stopped in for a burger and a few beers. Burger was fantastic and very large. Beers were crisp and cold. Will be back next time I'm close by!

Consistent food, the bartender wasn't particularly attentive or friendly Saturday night despite not being busy. Bartender and waitress were staring at their phones most of the time. Are and left after 1 drink.

Stumbled upon this cute pub.. gives me the Cheers vibe. The food was decent Irish pub fare. The lamb lollipops were amazing!!!!Bangers and mash good not great .. gravy was not Guinness beer gravy as it stated on menu. The drinks made up for it. They were strong but good, a hard balance. The waitress/ barmaid was super friendly and a great waitress. I’ll be back here!

Super friendly and helpful staff. Stopped by with the hubs for a drink in a beautiful day with the doors all open. He's in a wheelchair and old buildings like this are frequently not handicapped friendly. Staff tried to get him in. When they couldn't, they cheerfully moved a table outside, which was lovely. With the doors open, we felt part of the bar. Waitress made good drinks recommendations. Truffle fries come loaded with cheese all the way thru. We'll be back (in good weather). Ho.e run!

The bartender with glasses wearing a “straight out of bryn mawr” shirt on 3/29/25 was very rude. She definitely negatively impacted my experience

I had high hopes for The Grog, drawn in by the mouthwatering photos on their website. Unfortunately, the reality fell painfully short.

To start, their reservation system seems to be for show—my girlfriend tried booking online, but no one ever responded. We decided to take our chances and walk in, only to find a much smaller and less inviting atmosphere than expected.

I ordered their house cocktail, the G Manhattan, and was immediately concerned. A Manhattan with a sugared rim? That’s a first—and hopefully a last. It was clear the bartender had no idea how to make a proper Manhattan.

For appetizers, we ordered the candied bacon and poutine. The bacon was a fun spectacle and genuinely tasty, but the so-called poutine? It was cheese fries with gravy, a complete insult to the dish. Anyone who has actually eaten poutine would be horrified.

The entrées were just as disappointing. My girlfriend’s mushroom and goat cheese flatbread was a disaster—a rock-hard crust paired with raw mushrooms. Her son’s Grog burger and sweet potato fries seemed to be the only safe choice of the night. I ordered the Reuben with a side salad, which was another letdown. The house salad was just iceberg lettuce with a few shavings of cucumber and carrot, plus some crouton dust. When I asked for the ranch dressing I had ordered, I received what seemed to be straight mayonnaise instead.

Bottom line: Do not be fooled by the pretty pictures online. The execution here is amateur at best, from the bar to the kitchen. If you’re looking for a place that serves proper cocktails, knows the basics of cooking, and values customer reservations, The Grog isn’t it. We won’t be back.

Went here on a whim with my family and not only was the food delicious, but the service really stood out. The bartender was welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. She made great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed, even accommodating a special dietary request with ease. The staff’s friendly and genuine care made our experience feel special. We will definitely be back!

Love the Grog and all of the bartenders here! I come in for the lunch specials and after work and the service is consistently excellent, kind, and fabulous.
