I do like the food and the prices. It's not your topical suit down restaurant. It's more like a cross between buffet and self serve. They do bring your food to the table and when you wave someone over they are happy to help however they can. It has a home feel to it. So far we've been pleased with every visit and we will definitely be back.
Dietary restrictions: They do serve gluten free bread for toast or French toast.

I was in Butler, PA early in the morning & was in need of a good breakfast. I stumbled upon Mac’s Route 8 Cafe. I pulled into the parking lot and noticed it was to busy. I walked in and was greeted warmly by the hostess. I told her I was a first timer, she quickly went over how things are done there. First, you place your order at the counter & are given a numbered table tent, they bring your meal to you. Second, you select your coffee mug at the counter as well. There is a coffee bar where you refill your drink & get your cream & sugar. You also seat your self, tables or booths are your options. I had the standard scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon (crispy) & white toast with butter. My coffee was good, hot & fresh. I do put a lot of cream in there, so I make it more of a latte. As the morning progressed, the restaurant filled up quick. I had a feeling the is a local haunt for sure. A few minutes later our waitress brought out our breakfast entrees. It was perfectly prepared & really hit the spot. You really can’t go wrong with a nice hardy breakfast. The atmosphere was very relaxing & calm, just the locals chatting & enjoying their breakfast. I very much enjoyed my dinning experience here. The staff was awesome & the food was great. I strongly recommend you try a breakfast here.

Good place for diner style food. Seems family run? So that gives it a hometown groove.
We picked this place on a whim in our travels for the day. We were not disappointed. He had the country fried steak. They use sausage gravy on it instead of just white gravy and it was soooo good. I had the grilled chicken salad. Everything was super fresh. Everyone we talked to was awesome as well. We will definitely be back.

Mac's is a nice little place. I've been here several times with some friends, and I've always enjoyed it. The prices are pretty fair, the staff is really friendly, and I've never had a bad experience with any of the food. Not much else say other than it's a really solid breakfast place.
