I had the 6 oz sirloin dinner with a loaded bake potato and salad bar. My steak was med well and it was juicy and light seasoning as I like and it melted in your mouth. I always eat so much off of the salad buffet and take my entree home and I heated my steak the next day and it was still moist so shout out to ponderosa in butler.

Its a buffet so I think you have to expect some spillage from others on the buffet tableas you choose your food. Very crowded the day we were there so longer waits for food. I'm on a very restricted diet so its a little pricey (with no other option) for the 3-5 oz of food I can eat at a time.

It’s been a while since I posted my initial 2-star review in 2022, and it’s time for an update.

Back then, I criticized the disabling of tap-to-pay; as of 2025, you can now tap to pay with Samsung Pay.

I also criticized the manager, Melissa. I haven’t seen her around — management seems to be doing well, and their specials and food selection have improved.

The servers at Ponderosa are a joy to be around: happy, professional, and welcoming.

The food selection has improved again. One word — pierogies.

All in all, they’ve gotten much better and have managed to keep pricing and promotions reasonable, even in these tumultuous times.

I was told that this is the last Ponderosa restaurant in Pennsylvania. I hadn't been to one in years, and honestly the food was exactly the same as I remember. There are a few favorites for me. The main one is banana bread. It's amazing. You have to try it. All of the food I tried was tasty. And everyone left happy. If you're looking for something quick and filling, give it a try.

We grew up on Ponderosa and all the ones near us closed years ago. We were delighted to find out this one was just a few hrs away, so we made a day trip. It was excellent from the moment we entered until the time we left. The food was great, our server Tracey was amazing. Our table had the steak entree and 2 grilled chicken entrees. The buffet was hot, fresh and full of many great choices. Lots of desserts to choose from and a clean comfortable atmosphere. Thank you for the care and pride you put into your establishment and customers!

What I would expect from Ponderosa, decent food for a great price. I had a ribeye in addition to the buffet for a marginal price addition, and enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

This place is just the way it always has been. It brought back memories of times long pass. The prices were very good and the food was excellent. The service was top notch and had the feel of a Mom and Pop old school diner. There's plenty of parking and it's wheelchair accessible. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

Definitely not like the Ponderosa growing up on. Food wasn’t that good or hot, like it had been sitting for hours. Hardly any dessert items and they had normal paper plates and bowels. Was only offered a refill after my cup sat empty for 15 mins cuz waitress was no where to be found. And after that refill didn’t see her again. Kid workers just sat around messing around and not even paying attention to customers. Drove almost 2 hours in hope it was at least kinda like the old ponderosa from back in the day, boy was I wrong. Could have gone to my local Golden corral for the same food.

The Ponderosa of my childhood has come back. Their food is outstanding. Their meatloaf is my favorite. Along with a bunch of other menu items. Good job. 👍🏾
