A favorite for the delicious food as well as service. Always great specials and soups. The deserts are made daily and so fresh. A comfy and clean stop. Always our go to.
First time here. My new go to place when in the area!

Friendly, fast service and good, fresh food.
I stayed in the area for 3 days and discovered this gem. I went here every morning for coffee and breakfast. The food and service is top notch. The owners and workers there are so nice and offer great customer service. It is like your grandmom made you breakfast. They use all fresh ingredients and real potatoes (not frozen generic diner potatoes). It will be hard for you to find a better breakfast in the Poconos than here.

I love coming here. The food is always delicious and the service is very friendly. My favorite is the eggplant sandwich with their potato salad.

Wow. The food was delicious! We paid under $30 for two meals and two coffees. I got one of their specials: sausage, mushroom, smoked gouda omelet! They have a little room on the side to eat also with a very home/cabin feeling! Glad we were able to find a place close to eat from where we're staying that is so good! The menu for lunch looks so good, too.

My fiancé and I decided to stop by this restaurant after driving by, and while the food was decent for the price, the overall experience left much to be desired. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty, except for one table of what appeared to be locals. We picked a table by the window in the additional seating area, as we wanted a nice view and the opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery since we were new to the area.
However, soon after sitting down, the owner rushed in and stated that we must move to a two-top table in the corner, just a foot away from the stairs. While I understand that seating arrangements might need to be adjusted when the restaurant is busy, it had been a quiet morning with only the one other group in the other seating area.
Despite our discomfort, we complied and moved to the other table. My fiancé and I ordered simple meals, and our entire experience lasted about 30 minutes. Throughout that time, we were the only ones in the extra seating area, and all the tables, including the one we had originally chosen, remained empty. However, the owner continued to come into the area and seemed to rush us, giving only short replies. What should have been a relaxing breakfast enjoying homemade food quickly turned into an anxiety-inducing experience, where we felt as though we weren’t welcome.
I can understand if the restaurant had been busier—but the way it was handled felt cold. It seemed as though the restaurant catered more to locals rather than tourists and left much to be desired. Although the food was decent, I had hoped to have more of a welcoming and relaxing experience.

First Place Cafe is an absolute gem!! The owners are super attentive with everything. The food was great and they have gluten free bread for those with gluten issues. We came here both mornings on our weekend getaway.

I am also referencing James Nicholson and Dawn Cote’ review. My husband and I were the final two of the party of six on the visit of January 5, 2025. We were looking forward to a nice meal after church. The cafe was recommended to us by one of our friends at church. After what happened, we had discussed leaving before putting in an order. We should have left. Food was Nothing special and I was very put off when we were greeted abruptly, and negatively. I don’t think Amazon sells the special vests that Murphy, the sweetest service dog, was wearing; this is military issued. His handler, Chris, is a Purple Heart, combat veteran. I am not much on the laws of ADA or governance of Pennsylvania, but I was shocked at the way they were treated. The entire group was made to feel uncomfortable. We will not be returning. Oh, most of your five stars come from, “local guides”….I don’t think they count. Please do better.

I can't even begin to put into words how good their blueberry pancakes are. They are literally the best I've ever had, anywhere. I eat all around the country (and the world, even), so that's saying a lot. Their egg & cheese sandwich was also quite good.
