This was about our fifth time going. Name has changed to KOL Grill. This has been our go to for a nice steakhouse meal. Very disappointed with only one steak on the menu but there weee two steak specials. I had the prime rib which was served without any horseradish sauce or au-jus. My wife had a skirt steak serving was only 2 ounces. The desert choices were very lame only two choices. We will not be heading back there for a while. Searching for a new local steakhouse

Oh, my. Not good at all. Our food appeared to have been cooked prior and reheated-you know, like leftovers from your own fridge. The salmon was very dry and lukewarm and came out too quickly to justify being anything other than reheated. The hanger steak was edible but of poor quality. The mashed potatoes were hard, again obviously reheated in a microwave. No rolls or bread. No water poured. The green beans were sickly green and limp, definitely over cooked, yet lukewarm. The whole experience was so bad that we just sat there and laughed. We didn’t even complain because what would be the point? It was obviously sub par and it was sent out of the kitchen presumably by someone who could see. Burgers next to us looked decent and the local IPA on draft was great so stick to burgers and beer and definitely avoid the salmon and steak.

Ordered the Prime Rib asked for medium came medium well. Waitress said it came with string beans as a vegetable but came out with carrots and we were never told there was a change. They didn't have 3 of the menu drinks we asked for, no Espresso Martini, Guinness Beer or Ruffino Chianti wine. We settled for everything served it was good but not what we asked for, service was good also and friendly. We'd try it again, maybe an off night.
The service was wonderful and the drinks were very good. Wonderful atmosphere, however the food was not enjoyable at all. It tasted like it was pre-made and heated up. The menu wasn't the diverse either

The service was good. Drinks were made well but were delayed from time ordered. The steaks were not of good quality and very tough. The entree was visually appealing but was served well under temperature and quite bland. They are most definitely not a steak house as their name suggests. They need to procure a higher quality product and more qualified chefs.They did not meet my expectations and will most likely not be a return customer.

Kol isn't a "steakhouse." They have a bar menu, at best. We only went to Kol because the online menu looked amazing (with seafood and a variety of steak selections), only to find out that's no longer the menu.They currently have 1 cut of beef available, along with a few burgers and apps. The food was almost inedible, the atmosphere even worse. We most certainly won't be back.The only saving grace was our server, Eileen, who was so kind, attentive, and accommodating.

As we went for looking for steak we decided to order both. The steak with butter sauce with fries was passable. The steak special (rib eye) was horrible - never had one so thin and full of grizzle, fat and was tasteless. Dessert menu was also a bust...cheesecake or pound cake. The owner of this restaurant, who also owns Settlers Inn, The Dock and Ledges needs to get over to Carbondale to check out this location and make some improvements!

The worst dining experience of my life last night August 23rd 2023. New menu with NO STEAK AVAILABLE . The General manager contacted me today asking "What was wrong with our chicken and fish dinners they weren't STEAK that's what was wrong. I asked my friends to drive a long way to meet me there for STEAK not chicken and fish which we were forced to eat as an alternative. We there for STEAK and should have been told when the reservations were made that they would not have any.Also our meals were rushed and served when we were less than half way through our overpriced $13.00 salads which we had to leave behind to eat our entrees. This is NOT a STEAK House by any stretch of the imagination, and I am embarrassed that I asked my friends to drive miles and miles to meet me there when a local diner would have been far superior.

Don't waste your time or money. If you want to eat at a steakhouse this isn't the right choice. The menu is more comparable to bar menu. They only had 1 steak on the menu an 8oz filet mignon (skirt steak does not qualify as a REAL steak.) They only had 1 server working on a Saturday night. The food was was not good. Period. If I could have given no ⭐ I would have. The portion sizes are small, but the prices are not. My daughters burger was charred, it looked more like a hockey puck than something you would eat. My other daughter had a panini, which was also burned. They don't even play background music, so at times it was dead silent. It was freezing cold because the air conditioning was blasting. If you do go, make sure you check your receipt because they upcharge for everything, and they add the gratuity directly to the bill. Just a complete let down ?

My 2 daughters and I went for dinner on Friday 7/14/23, it was our first visit to Kol Steakhouse. I'm sorry to say the service was awful! Our waitress disappeared, she never came back to ask if we needed anything. We had to go to the bar to find out where she was so we could pay our bill and leave after being there 2 hours! The burgers and chicken were both undercooked. The only positive comment I have is the restaurant is very nice. We will not being going back due to an awful experience with the service and food.
We had a baby shower at the Kol Steakhouse earlier this month. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were never rushed or inconvenienced. The food was excellent! We were very pleased with our experience. Also, we stayed overnight in the Hotel Anthracite. Again, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the comfort it offered. The complimentary breakfast was a treat, as well. We ended up having all our meals at the Kol Steakhouse and they were great, as was the staff. High marks, no regrets!!!

Every time I go to a new restaurant I order a simple burger to get a feel for what their cooking standards are like. If you can't make a good burger I'm completely uninterested in anything else on the menu. This place blew me away.They absolutely NAILED a simple LTO cheeseburger. Honestly it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Sometimes I feel like I'm too critical of restaurants until I see one that does things right. 10/10 burger. Absolutely perfect.If I could offer one counterpoint though, their food was a bit pricey. $9 for a glass of Merlot. Together my wife and I had a 1/2 price appetizer each, one alcoholic drink each, and a burger each. $75 before tip. The food was amazing though. The pork belly steak with the balsamic glaze was the kind of thing we are still talking about. So, quality food at premium prices? All I know is that if I want a burger done right I know where to go.
