Great place for amazing brews. Food is solid as well. Trivia nights are a hoot and music here is always a treat. Always look forward to coming back--prost!
Atmosphere was good, service was good, we had a large party outside. The food was here and there, not many in our group enjoyed the pulled pork style sandwich, the sausages were very good as was the potato salad. Everyone seemed to enjoy the beer selection, the wine was pretty bad. It's not hard to stock decent wine, especially at 9$ a glass. I'm not sure if it's local, but that could be the problem. 😬 We enjoyed our time there, I did hate all the paper plates and plastic wear though.
Great beer, conveniently located next to carlisle fairgrounds
Service is phenomenal. I had the Mexican Lager and the Raspberry Lemon Drop. Both were excellent drinks. The sausage I had was super flavorful and the kraut was good. Unfortunately they served it in a roll versus a bun. The casing was too tough and I had to use a knife and fork. Played some board games, ate some food and had some good drinks. Desperate Times = Good times.
Uncomfortably loud this place needs some acoustic sound panels the beer was good and the food ok.
We stopped in Desperate Times Brewery for a late dinner and had our choice of tables. Starting with drinks and an Oliver Twist proved to be a wise choice. The lime gave the Mexican-Style Lager an extra summertime twist, and the beer cheese was a perfect compliment the warm soft pretzel (that was perfect for sharing). For dinner we opted to get sandwiches which were served warm and were full of flavor. Service was great, and we didn’t feel rushed even though we were on the later end of the dinner service. Looking forward to our next visit, so we can try more delicious items!
They even brought out a pup cup for our dog. 🐕
Always a good time at Desperate Times Brewery. We had a rather large get-together there last night, and the staff and everyone were very accommodating. Food and beer selections were great.
Stopped in because we were in the area and hadn't been there in a while. Had a flight to try some beers and they were all really good. Soft pretzel with mustard and beer cheese was awesome
Had a fantastic dining experience at a nice local brew pub and German eatery. Deb was both the bartender and my server and she was very friendly and offered me the ability to taste some of the beers I was interested in.
I selected the Swarzbier and Law Breaker Oatmeal Stout. I personally selected the Lawbreaker because I don’t like hoppy beers. The beer paired nicely with the sausage selection I opted for.
They have a selection of three sausage platter that was fantastic. The natural casing gave each a nice snap. The bonus unexpected was the offer for the curry ketchup. Each was unique and extremely tasty. My only negative was the sauerkraut was soggy and not crisp. It was a nice flavored Bavarian style kraut too. The other bonus was the brochen.
I would definitely go back when visiting Carlisle.

My wife and I found this places years ago, although we don't go out to eat much we love coming here
We came to town for a short trip, and met the other half of our party here for dinner and a beer. Very tasty flight, so many good, homemade German food options, and friendly atmosphere. Carlisle isn’t big, but somehow I had never been to the fairgrounds. Dog friendly patio, but you had to order inside (at least that Monday night). We shared the sauerbraten sandwich and the Reuben. Friendly bartender recommended other places for our stay.
The service was awesome and the beer was good but the food was bland
New deal IPA taste like this…miller light was left outside all summer, fall, winter…you found it following spring. You cracked it open and tried it.. tasted skunked, old, unbearable. I paid $15 for a 4 pack, I was only able to drink half a pint. I literally poured the rest out without trying them. Piss poor beer. I won’t drink nothing else from this brewery. Y’all make piss. Desperate times Brewery, you might wanna find something else to do
Positives:
- Good beer options
Negatives:
- Noisy. Concrete on concrete
- Zero coziness
- Confusing menu
- Mediocre food
