I love the beer here. It is so clean tasting and they have great food as well!

Just visited again tonight and have to say that Viv is amazing. Such a natural sales person letting us know which beers would suit us best.

Hazy Galaxy is the best beer in Carlisle! The food is limited but there is something for everyone. I suggest the porky cheese it and the blind bonnie!

This was my first visit to Desperate Times Brewery and it will definitely not be my last! The food was absolutely delicious and our waitress was amazingly friendly!

Very dog friendly— brought out a water bowl and pup cup for our dog.
Food was great and reasonably priced.
My husband got a flight of beer and said this is his second favorite brewery he’s ever been to out of all the breweries he’s tried across the country!

While in Carlisle for work, I came upon this local dive bar. This place has ample parking upfront, wheelchair accessible entrance via a ramp. Be warned, though, the lot is gravel. Once inside, be ready to indulge in some award winning beers! There are, on any given night, 12 to 15 original brews on tap. Feel free to ask for a sample, a flight to sample a few at a time, or a full size glass. All their beers have a great taste, great flavor, color, etc. Their German Weis is my favorite - though they have a range of beers, including lagers, wheat, sours, IPA, kosch, stouts, and whatever seasonal stuff might be up. You can take your favorite beer to go. You can find some of their more popular beers canned and for sale in the refrigerators next to the bar. If you get 4, you save $5!

Oh yeah, there's food. They have an extensive kitchen selection. I had The Lincoln - their take on the reuben. For dessert, I had their (huge) pretzel with Nutella dipping sauce.

PROS:
Great beer selection
Great waitstaff
Flavorful food
Clean
THE BEST sauerkraut ever.

CONS:
Portion size for price
Some menu items a tad expensive( $3.50 for a pickle. A regular pickle- no, there was nothing extraordinary about it. Also, the extras are too much...Did I see a single roll for $8?)

Overall, I would recommend to anyone, but warn them of only the prices. Plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, bar seats, and a small kids area with boardgames (good job there).

We stopped here while passing through the area and were incredibly impressed with the quality service, the food and the delicious beer. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our two children and dog. Definitely worth the stop!

Seems they cater more toward an old redneck crowd.

Not my style.

DTB's German Pilsner is unique in that it is not full of hops like some local breweries' pilsners but rather reflects the true pilsner style of Bavaria. I've been to the region several times and DTB truly reflects the style in this offering.
