We called ahead for carry out, arrived 30 minutes later and waited another 30 minutes for our food to arrive as if we were eating there. The staff working the counter was extremely rude and acted as if it was a normal occurrence. There was no apology or customer service at all. Food was good but staff needs training. Will hesitate before returning.

Our family has been coming to George's for the whole of my daughter and her father's life. This place is SUCH a family tradition, at least it was. Guys, I'll save you the trouble of going because it's disgusting in there. Yes, the original interior is charming and we love the photos HOWEVER this place is falling apart and it looks like the dining area hasn't been cleaned since the 50s. The wall is literally peeling, the vents are coated with sludge- the list goes on. I can't even imagine what the kitchen looks like with a dining area that needs updated so badly. Over the years we've overlooked that for old time sake, but this passed weekend we had our last experience at George's. We ordered a medium pizza and it took 45 minutes to come out, no one else was in the building & the phones were dead. My husband had to ask where our food was just to find it sitting on the counter while the staff finished their conversation. & we could tell it had been sitting there because it was lukewarm when they finally gave it to us. And it was gross- the bacon on this thing was raw. It was not what we loved about George's. This place is dying. The soda machine doesn't even work half the time and you're getting over priced gross food made in, what I can only assume, is a gross kitchen. We LOVE this place so this is a hard write, but it does need some serious love. & this wasn't our first time having experiences like I've just described. This is probably our third time so we really gave it a go. ðŸ˜

Exactly what I had expected from this place. Great atmosphere, classic interior is a plus. Many old photos are a nice touch as well. Pizza was good, can't complain about that. Staff was kind and helpful and this place was clean overall. Recommend to give it a try!

I would absolutely recommend George's! This restaurant was founded on the American Dream! 66 years is a long time y'all! This is such a treasure in Carlisle!
Besides that...The staff is amazing, down to earth and friendly (which is very important to me), the dining area/ restrooms were clean, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu and I especially love all their new options for catering!
And how sweet is it to look at all those old vintage pictures, and say "hey you see that picture of the kid with the eye patch and busted up teeth, and looks like they belong on a sad commercial raising money... that was me!" haha.
It's nice that they have tables instead of just the booths to accommodate more people with parties. And the soda self refill option is nice so you don't need to wait in line anymore to fill up your cup.
Their 3 foot Sub is excellent for any event and is a crowd pleaser and a great price too!
My absolute favorites would have to be the burger sub on homemade roll, white pizza, onion petals, fries, and milkshake.. okay like everything is good there haha.

Wow they should be ashamed charged me $9 for a sub. It is the size of a hotdog bun, has 1 piece of cheese torn in half on it and 4 pieces of meat.
