On my way through Carlisle for the night, I googled “gluten-free Carlisle PA”, and The Pizza Grille appeared at the top of the list. Good choice.

In spite of the name, this is a table-service restaurant (with carry-out). It seemed favored by locals on that Friday night. The atmosphere was light and crisp. A trio of women brought their own wine (BYOB is reportedly common in Carlisle) and enjoyed a long leisurely evening. A few couples old enough to no longer have children were there, and later nine young men (possibly a team) shared pizzas and one long table. Our host was alert and attentive without being obtrusive.

I chose the gluten-free crab cake dinner and was delighted with the result. The meal was not merely served but plated, with due attention to presentation. The crab cake was fittingly large enough to be the entrée and was delicious. With it on the plate were a copious set of lightly dressed greens and some roasted fingerling potatoes. I also ordered a gluten-free pepperoni to take on the road next day; another good choice.

I finished the evening with the delightful gluten-free cheesecake, although I had to call for a box to take the remainder home with me. It was a great and relaxing night out!

I had a great experience. The sandwich was fresh, delicious, and made just right and Sophia was awesome friendly attentive and made sure everything was perfect. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I was so happy to find many choices for gluten free! Today I decided to order (online) the large House Salad adding chickpeas and black olives on as well. All ingredients were fresh and delicious. I also ordered the gluten free Carnivore pizza with chicken, pepperoni and meatballs. Scrumptious! So good I'll definitely be ordering this again!
