El Pollon in Carnegie is a tasteful choice for authentic Peruvian food. On a recent visit I tried the Tallarin Verde con Bistec, chicken burrito, onion and tomato salad, Peruvian fried rice, tres leches and flan. The food was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and kind. I will definitely return to try more of their menu. Definitely save room for dessert!!!

Parking: There is also a paid parking lot about two blocks down in the heart of Carnegie if street parking is full.

I was so stoked to be invited to check out El Pollon in Carnegie in partnership with Run Relay! While I don’t often find myself out in Carnegie, El Pollon is sure to change that. A Peruvian Charcoal Rotisserie Chicken Restaurant- Honestly, what more could you ask for? With its welcoming atmosphere and dedication to quality, El Pollon brings the heart of Peru to every dish it serves! They were so GOUD to me and beyond that, the food was incredible. I got to try so many delightful dishes and a really special house made drink called Chicha limeña (chicha morada) this non-alcoholic drink tastes like Christmas time with cinnamon and berry flavors throughout. The first thing I ordered was the El pollon burger and my lord it was good. Super juicy, cheesy, with their chicken and burger, shoestring fries - ? I then got to try the 1/4th chicken (dark meat) that came with two sides- I got Peruvian fried rice and green beans. The chicken was so tender flavorful and perfect. I’m normally a skeptic when ordering chicken bc I can’t stand dry meat, but fear not GOUDfam this was anything but. Now let’s talk about the the Lomo Saltado- whatever they sautéed that steak in I want smothered on every food i eat from now on. It was so so so good. Eat bite was better than the next and the way the rice soaked up the sauce was heaven. Finished my meal up with the decadent tres leches and it was the perfect creamy sweet treat to offset the savory dishes I indulged in. Thank you again for having me, I cannot wait to come back #GOUDapproved

My husband and I just ate here and the food was amazing! You must order the carne asada with rice and fried plantains. Absolutely mouth watering! We will be back!

We went here a few times and did not love it because it's just average food. After eating Peruvian food in DC, I realized this place is not good authentic Peruvian food...But we would still go there because they have Ceviche on the weekends and my girlfriend being from Peru, sometimes craves ceviche. Last weekend, we called to make sure they had it, and the girl who answered the phone said yes, "we still do and we're open until nine." We arrived there right around 745 (we live 45 mins away) and ordered ceviche. The cook looked at his watch, rolled his eyes, and said, "I'm not making that right now, pick something else." They still had it in stock, but did not feel like making it for us. It was the rudest encounter I've ever experienced at a restaurant and because of that, I will never go back. My girlfriend and I will go to other Peruvian places even if we have to drive to Columbus or Cleveland, but we will not go back there because they are totally disrespectful.

I was invited to check out El Pollon in Carnegie via Run Relay. The spot has a good amount of seating with a reasonably sized menu.

Our server highly recommended the Tallarin a la Huancaina con Lomo aka spaghetti with Huancaina Sauce topped with sauteed steak. I was skeptical about a spaghetti dish at first at a Peruvian place but it turned out to be my favorite thing we tried! The sauce was flavorful and creamy and delicious! We also really enjoyed the Carne Asada, the quarter chicken with dark meat, and all the yummy sides, especially the plantains! Our server was super friendly and did a great job recommending dishes we might not have tried. All the items we got were huge portions and very reasonably priced. It’s definitely a gem and I would go back for sure!!

I do not recommend the ceviche. Maybe I would give a try to other dishes. However the customer service is 0 stars.

So happy I found this place! Lomo Saltado was delicious! Restaurant is small but beautiful! Went on a Wednesday night and had no wait time! Food came relatively fast, fresh made and hot! Our waitress was attentive and super nice! Go and try it for yourself!!

Mediocre lomo saltado. Instead of French fries they gave us fried plantain and the meat was like rubber. They messed up also our side dishes, as they forgot to give us fried rice. Chicken was ok. Definitely not going back.

I got the lomo something de lo pobre, or poor mans chicken and potatoes. Substituted yuca for fries, comes with rice, egg, plantain, steak, a tasty sauce! Yuca was acceptable but not outstanding.

Now they are charging 18% free of charge on the receipt already included and when you go to pay at the card machine it costs you 18% or more for the tip and they don't even consult you in front of you, they charge you even if it were 5 Forks, They no longer know where to get money from people, I'm not going anymore.
I repeat, the receipt includes 18% free PLUS the other tip of 18% or more that they charge you at the machine. You always tip for the service and in no other restaurant they charge you like that, you don't want to go overboard for charging twice for the service, better pay your employees well if you care so much about the service that you even charge them for the food. .

I got a rotisserie chicken. It must have been about 4 days old. Incredibly dry. To serve something like that is a disgrace. Will never go back.
