Stylish dining setting perfect for friends get together events with delicious food options and unique vegetable pairing with braised beef, rack of lamb or Faroe Islands salmon. Somewhat pricey, but well worth it.
Vegetarian options: Carrots, artichokes, salad and other additions.

I read some amazing reviews on social media which prompted me to stop in here for dinner on a Wednesday night. The place was sooo packed, there was only 1 seat at the bar, which I got. Steve, the bartender did a great job handling that busy bar and all the service bar tickets coming in from the restaurant. He was friendly (in his own way) and very helpful with the menu. He definitely described the various dishes perfectly! The food I had was excellent! It was all freshly made with fresh ingredients and tasted great! Lots of food tho, so bring an appetite! Great prices on food and cocktails too! Definitely will be back!
Nice little jem in Carnegie for an upscale meal. It isnt a big restaurant so definitely make reservations.
I was looking for a lunch spot. However I didn't know that this was an upscale restaurant. The prices were extremely too high. I wind up getting two appetizers, a mocktail and call it a day. Not to say that the food was nasty was actually pretty good. However, I just wasn't expecting to spend that much money on a late lunch
Carnegie? Really?!Absolutely!!!I have enjoyed dining at 131 on numerous occasions. I am always delighted by the amazing kitchen, gracious service and knowledgeable, interactive barkeepmanship. This is a gem in the otherwise anthracite-encumbered restaurants in the South Hills.
It’s somewhat upscale version of American cuisine. People in our group really enjoyed the meat choices. My salmon was good but not extraordinary. I would recommend this place for nice dinner with coworkers
Hadn’t been there for awhile so had dinner last night. The food and service were good, but a few items really bothered me that I had not experienced at this great restaurant in the past. We were not offered a menu and had to scan a QR code to view it. Wine selection was lean, only 2 chards and 2 cabs. Had not heard of either of them. Since they were served by the bottle we could not sample them. As an alternative my wife then asked for asked schnapps and they were not sure if they had any. Asked for some bread and was told it is not on the menu. When the entree was served I was asked if I needed anything, requested parmesan cheese, received a few tablespoons in a small cup and later found out I was charged $2.00. Thus is a Carnegie Restauant getting AAAA aka cart prices. Since we decided not to return I left a nice tip. I was thinking about deducting the cheese from the gratuity but thought that would be as classless as charging for it. We have other local dining experiences available where we have full menu choices and not N & D’d.
Very well crafted! Our favorite place in the neg. By far the best restraunt in Carnegie! The pork chop is a solid choice!
our dinner was fantastic, staff was great and drinks were refreshing
A friend and I had dinner here on Saturday night. We were seated under a very bright pin light. I asked if it could be dimmed. They turned it down but all the pin lights started to flicker because they did not install "dimmable" bulbs. I was told that is "just the way it is". I asked to be moved before we ordered and was told that they were going to be booked all night. Which DID NOT explain why we could NOT be moved to another empty table in plain sight! The waitress said they had to leave tables open due to Covid! She finally acquiesced. By the way the bar was packed shoulder to shoulder! Also,---we didn't even order yet. lol When she told us that their menu was on line I asked if there was a paper option because we are almost 70 years old and not very computer savvy. She brought us a half a sheet of printed computer paper with the full menu on it and said that handing out a printed menus was "very pricey"! OMG!!! Laminate a few and wipe them off in between customers. SMH Now for the kicker---- They have NO BREAD AND BUTTER,---"due to Covid". Are you kidding me? Someone touched my food, touched my drink, touched my silverware and now you tell me you can't touch the bread during Covid! Someone with common sense needs to reassess what is happening here. The next time my friend and I want to spend $200.00 on a night out, IT WONT BE HERE!

Loved the food! After having an amazing dinner, I spoke with the chef/co-owner (he came out to the table). I asked if we could meet to discusss my services for restaurants, that they would make a perfect client (Merchant Services and Payroll). He said to come in to meet with his wife, they are always looking to possibly save money. So I did, after he gave me a day and time to come in to meet. She was SO rude to me, completely dismissive.... and basically blew me off. I had an appointment, she wouldn't even give me 5 minutes. Just turned her back and walked away. I mean really rude. A complete waste of MY time. Perhaps you should know what the other person has set up appointment wise. We have NEVER been back to dinner. A shame, because it was great food. However, it REALLY put a bad taste in my mouth. She could have been much nicer about it, if he didn't relay the message. Just shows her personality. Just FYI...You aren't the ONLY people in business for themselves. Certainly NOT a nice way to treat another entrepreneur in the area. How would you like that if it were done to YOU?! Just sayin... Bottom line. DONT BE RUDE !! Good food or not, it is off putting. BE NICE TO PEOPLE.
Had a birthday dinner at 131 East. We had never been here before and had no expectations. The service and food were absolutely wonderful. There was a big party in the back and the noise level was a little high, but as soon as the tables got their food, the noise level diminished. We enjoyed the creative menu items and the wine list was sufficient. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a bit upscale, creative and friendly restaurant.
Hands down one of the best spots in Pittsburgh. Personally my favorite because their food is so incredible for take out. You can tell the chef is passionate and loving with his food. He loves root vegetables like white beets and colored carrots as well as delicious pickled greens beans. This guy knows what he’s doing and when it comes to soups. Makes the best of every kind. Corn chowder is fire. We actually requested to be on a call list for when the chef makes it. Great food and I’m harsh. Hope you try it!
Service was super nice. Waitress was incredibly friendly. The food on the other hand was average as best. I got the Spanish Paella. The rice was scalding hot while the seafood was warm at best. There was barely any seasoning and everything was super bland. 3 years ago this place was incredible...now not so much. Definitely not worth the cost.
Where to begin.... I used to love coming to 131. But today marks a new beggining. The food was awful. We had the tacos and the deviled eggs as an appetizer. They were boring with little to no flavor. Looked good. Not much taste. I ordered the Habuka sea bass, my friend got the Spanish paella. The sea bass I had was tasteless. Absolutely no flavor and had terrible sides that came with it. Really bad combination. The Spanish paella was also terrible. The rice tasted like river water. The seafood that comes with it was lack luster and needed some outside help. To put things lightly, our cokes were the best part. I will not be returning because of how drastically the restaurant has dropped in its amazing tastes from around the world. Sorry to see a good one turn bad.
