South Mountain Creamery Ice Cream & Cafe

My family was super excited to check this place out but we were greeted by a grumpy employee who seemed annoyed that we came in. This was our first time coming here and when I asked where the menus were I got the response " over by the pretzels", there was no smile no welcome thank you for coming here, just a gruff annoyed response for asking to see a menu. And where the heck are the pretzels? Again it was our first time. I feel like the food received didn't look like anything like there pictures they post. My husband got a meatball sub and it was 9 dollars for a sub that they chopped up meatballs on. Who chops up meatballs on a sub? And for the price it was small and really not worth it. The place was not busy at all and it felt like it's not set up in the best way, you have to run to one section to get chips, another section for milk for your kids meals, I feel like they could make it a little easier in how they arrange everything in the store. Bottom line was it wasn't awful but it wasn't great and attitudes when we walked in were disappointing. We also were getting mopped around as we ate even though they didn't close for another hour and a half which also made my family feel like they just wanted us out of there. Don't worry we won't be back.

When it was Trickling Springs there was more variety of ice cream and food products available. Its ok but not near as good as it was before

Wonderful ice cream...Strawberry with no red dye. :) Emma was so welcoming and nice. Will definitely be back to support this business.

I only had there Peanut butter pie ice cream, it was delicious. It's a very small place but I find that nice since it was very quiet. Also the servers were very nice and understanding of my friend who has Gluten and nut allergies. Only four stars because I have had none of there actual food.

Delicious fresh ice cream and a wonderful place to stop. The staff are always friendly no matter what day I stop in. No matter if it’s called Trickling Springs or South Mountain Creamery.

Best chocolate milk and ice cream around. They sell points etc as well as cones. They also serve fresh made sandwiches

Our family moved to Chambersburg few weeks ago. Today we tried ice cream at the south mountain creamery and it was one of the best ice creams I had. Kids loved birthday cake flavor, plus they enjoyed seeing how the creamery works (you can see the machine through the glass). Ice cream was rich and perfect amount of sweetness. Their good was also delicious! I had a summer strawberry salad and my husband had sandburger. I would recommend this place for sure.

Great store, friendly staff, clean and delicious food. Manager went out of her way to accomodate us and special ordered items with a phone call. So we repaid her with a recipe for English Clotted Cream. Nice lady!

Great sandwich and service and the Lemon Crunch ice cream was dreamy. I can't wait to go back for the seasonal strawberry shortcake sundae!

Huge serving for 2 dips of the best Grapenut ice cream. Delish! As always. Bought a container to take home.

A pleasant surprise...highly recommend. Turkey sandwich with cherry whole grain mustard was sweet and delicious. I also tried sweet red pepper mayo, which was a winner. Friendly and helpful...staff

Love the coffee ice cream. It's like the perfect cup is the best way I can explain its taste. I love the coffee ice cream.

Excellent ice cream! Creamy and savory. If you want a good local place to get ice cream this is good stop. I highly recommend.
