Widener University's, School of Engineering, provided me with the practical and theoretical skills to be successful. I appreciate now, 22 years later, the great experience and learning that was provided to me by so many great people, professors, and peers. Lastly, the four year co-op program was invaluable and provided me with the real-life experience that helped me learn what was be taught in the classroom.

A Vet loose in the Vet I graduated in the early 70's as an English major¹. I was fortunate to have studied under Homer Nearing, Diana Le Sturgeon, Joe Lowe, Jim Keleher, Bill Fairweather and Charlie Smith. They nurtured a love of words crafted so readers could meld their mind's eye with what the writer described. Two weeks ago I completed my second book, THE SECRET APARTMENT, a surreal memoir, a true but understandably hard to believe collection of true stories about my time living in a secret apartment, illegally, for over two years without being caught. I had issues. If I overheard this story being told in a bar or at a party, I wouldn't believe it either. I have to admit, though, I'd probably scootch a little closer, eavesdropping. I'd have to find out how this yarn unraveled. Let's begin an implausible story with a seemingly simple yet complex question: Would you, if you had no children or dependents and had never been married, have lived in a secret apartment "on the down low" in a sport's stadium of two teams you had grown up loving ? What we have here is a South Philly version of an off the wall Phantom of the Opera but the larger notion this question begs would tempt the inner demons of sport's fans anywhere. In my case, I could. So I did. "Truth. often strange, is stranger than fiction." Lord Byron Tom Garvey Class of 1971 I didn't make anything up. I didn't have to.

Easy to navigate but not compact at all. Because of the air vents on the third and fourth floors the doors leading into the building are very difficult to open and the halls howl as air rushes through them.
