Yesterday I ordered the fried shrimp which was extremely SALTY and SOGGY by time I got home because they did not poke holes in the container so the heat could escape? The mac n cheese was NASTY the cheese they used taste like Velveeta and another cheese I can't put my finger on. They definitely DO NOT use quality cheese. And the mac n cheese was not seasoned at all. The greens were just ok. They could have used more seasoning and less liquid smoke.They should also invest in a walk up window since they do not let customers' inside and don't want customers' knocking on the door. You have to stand there and wait for someone to see you at the door. Then you have to talk LOUD so they can hear you through the glass door!

The price for the subpar meal is laughable. The Mac n cheese was made with an unidentifiable cheese. It was not good! The greens , mushy. Yams … a bag of sugar was added ! Cornbread , it was burnt on the bottom and across the top! Why serve burnt cornbread? However, the chicken wings were good. Supporting a Soul Food Restaurant requires an acceptable quality meal! Please do better !

1st I want to say this is an honest review!My husband and I were looking for somewhere to eat on a Friday night after a Google search of somewhere close to home we found shugar shack soul food. I went to their Instagram and everything looked great.I was excited as I have been wanting some mac & cheese. So not knowing we had to place our order online we placed an order online spending $76.We purchased two platters in order of chicken wings, two pieces of cornbread, which I only received one. We waited a while before going to pick up the food.When we arrived, we parked on the street, went to the door and walked in. We were told they were closed, but I let them know we had ordered online. I gave them my name. We were immediately kicked out,the staff stating we were not allowed to be in there.When we went back out into the cold, I did see a small sign on the door, saying to knock, and that we were not allowed inside. Approximately 5 to 7 minutes later, the nice lady came and brought us our food to the door and explained that they were shortstaffed no one to work the front and that’s why people were not allowed inside.In reference to the food I would like to first start off with the positive the wings. Fried were absolutely amazing.I had stuffed salmon with Mac and greens. The crab meat was not lump crab meat and was a bit salty. The greens were edible, but the thing I was most excited about the mac & cheese was really bad! A few reviews about the mac & cheese tasting bad and what they said was true. I was truly disappointed. My husband got the turkey chops, Mac, and rice w/ gravy The turkey chops were good a little dry. I enjoyed the rice and gravy that I eat off of his plate but again he dislike the mac & cheese also and we are mac & cheese lovers. Lastly, the cornbread was very dry very crumbly. I don’t know if this was because we ordered late and they were closing. But unfortunately, my excitement turned to disappointment and I feel like I wasted $76. I probably won’t go back and if I do, it’ll only be for the wings. :(

Those Shugar Shack wings with the bourbon sauce is a family favorite for our senior cousin living with Autism. He request them every time he visits us in Delco. A man his age, living with disability can have them anytime.
