Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

Food and beverages were beyond phenomenal (Hail Mary for the win)! We sat outside and really enjoyed the morning sun while we chatted and enjoyed our meal. Service started strong, but dwindled as the restaurant got busier; our refills went unnoticed, requests were not followed through (i.e., more bread or a condiment) and we essentailly bussed our table ourselves. Normally, I would attribute this to more diners, but we saw 8 different members of the waitstaff outside alone. Regardless, would return to Firebirds again!

As soon as we sat down, I immediately noticed that all of the 6-inch side plates were covered with food debris and grease. It appeared that these plates had only been rinsed and had not been run through a dishwashing machine. When our server first approached the table, I brought the issue to our server’s attention, she appeared dismissive of a legitimate food-safety concern and never returned to our table afterward.

Our replacement server brought us clean plates that appeared to have been properly washed and sanitized. As for the food, my children all ordered steaks and said they enjoyed them.

My wife ordered a salad with chicken and cranberries. After she had begun eating, she discovered that there was approximately one-eighth of an inch of water pooled in the bottom of the bowl. At that point, I became increasingly concerned about the food safety and sanitation practices at this establishment. We brought the issue to our server’s attention, and she seemed genuinely concerned. However, at no point did a manager come to our table to address the food safety and sanitation concerns we had raised. In my opinion, that lack of management involvement raises serious questions about how these issues are being handled at the restaurant.

I ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp appeared to be properly cooked, but the grits contained several cold spots throughout the dish, which suggests improper temperature control or food handling procedures.

The following day, my wife experienced symptoms consistent with food poisoning. Restaurants have a significant responsibility to provide customers with safe food and properly sanitized dishware. Based on what we observed and experienced during our visit, I have serious concerns that these issues may be more widespread than isolated incidents.

The local health department should evaluate this facility’s food safety and sanitation practices. Whether the cause is understaffing, inadequate training, poor management, or something else, these conditions should never occur in a restaurant serving the public.

Nice place. Bad food. Slow waitress. Imagine bringing food after doors closwed. We felt so awkward being alone in there. We waited 2 hours for food. We had 3 kids hungry and refills was never offered

Tried the hot honey chicken handheld. Heavily breaded and too oily. I peeled off a lot of the breading and set it aside. Had quite a mound on my plate. The burgers are much better and the sides are all very good especially the loaded baked potato.

We were a party of 9 celebrating my birthday. The manager was great accommodating our party. Our server was meh. My mom told her it was my birthday, she quickly responded, we don't sing or anything, they don't pay me enough to do that. There was 4 out of our party who split meals. They came already split on separate plates which was nice. So it was 7 meals. The food took about an hour to get to our table from the time we ordered. The place was not very busy, lots of open tables. My wife ordered a medium prime rib for her and our daughter, it came out rare. I got the bacon wrapped filet and shrimp. The filet was not tender and the shrimp was ice cold. I asked if the au gratin potatoes had any spice to them cause I don't do spicy, the server said no, they weren't spicy at all. When I was eating them they were definitely spicy, looked like they had peppers in them, maybe jalapenos. Everything else was just ok. Nothing special. The prices definitely did not match the quality of the food or the service. Drove an hour to go here. Definitely will not be back.

Table service was good although I ordered a cup of tea and the cup of hot water was half full so I asked for a second cup of hot water. We were asked if there was any food allergies - thank you. Our two entrees were shrimp and grits and the glazed garlic chicken with asparagus and cherry tomatoes. Both entrees were flavorful and prepared well. Good menu options for Sunday when you don't want brunch / breakfast.

The food was delicious as always. But our waitress Lizzie was the star of our experience. We always have good service when we come but she made it such a good experience above and beyond just normal service things. I and for sure going to request her going forward when I make reservations going forward. Lizzie thanks for making my birthday lunch one to remember!

Have grilled salmon every time I'm at Firebirds and always get a large portion. At this visit I thought I got half of what I usually get.

Salmon benedict out of this world. Subbed fruit for potatoes, nice freshly cut assortment. Love their brunch! Got a free dessert to go on my birthday!

The food was good, but out of our 6 people, 3 people had cold food. Drink refills took forever, we got the bread with dinner. The server Yasmine, I hope I spelled it right seemed bothered with waiting on us the eye roll wasn't necessary. The manager did discount the bill but I would rather have a nice hot meal and good service.
