“North Slope is one of our go-to spots, especially for brunch. The food is delicious. Check their Facebook before you go to see if there are any events going on. Sometimes there is trivia or live music, which definitely changes the vibe. We take our two small kids there for lunch or brunch sometimes and it’s nice and family friendly as long as there isn’t an event going on. But events could also be fun if that’s the vibe you’re looking for.Vegetarian options: I’m a vegetarian and have never had an issue finding options.Kid-friendliness: Definitely family friendly as long as there aren’t any events going on.“

“I go for the Veal Francaise. Hubby goes for the Prime Rib Ravioli. Joe was the chef at another establishment where we first tasted his food. When we learned he opened up his own place in Hanover, we followed the food! His foccacia is to die for!!! We always get boxes to take home left overs because the portions are so generous!“

Taco

“I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem in Wilkes Barre that has forever changed my perception of Latin cuisine - a little cart that serves up the most mouthwatering arepas (not on the menu - $8 and it takes 8 minutes to make) and a wide array of Mexican delights. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew it was authentic. 99% of the customers are Hispanic, and you can also bring your beer and sip it while enjoying the food. They take credit card payments, and you can pay via apple pay, etc. This truck might not catch your eye at first glance, but believe me, it's a culinary treasure waiting to be discovered. These golden, crispy corn arepa pockets are filled with a variety of delectable ingredients that will make your taste buds dance with joy. Order only one because it's filing. The hot sauces that accompany the arepas are okay. Perhaps skip them. We had chicken arepas. They recently raised the price from $6 to $8 per arepa, and my Latin friends were not happy with the price increase but it does take 8 minutes to make them. Their menu features an extensive selection of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas (enough for two meals at $13 per quesadilla), all made with the freshest ingredients. Whether you opt for the succulent carne asada, the zesty al pastor, or the flavorful vegetarian options, you'll be treated to an explosion of flavors that will transport you straight to the streets of Mexico. While we were eating, several Mexican construction workers came for their dinner, as well as some white-non Hispanic patrons who came because the aroma of the food was amazing. Don't expect it to be a 5-star restaurant. As for the ambiance, it's a "hole in the wall." It's a place where the focus is entirely on the food, and that's exactly how it should be. If you're a fan of Latin and Mexican cuisine and find yourself in Wilkes Barre, you simply must try this place. And for those of you who don't speak Spanish, they speak fluent English.“

“All fresh ingredients! Very tasty! I usually get a burrito bowl ? ? There are many choices and you can build your own bowl. They also offer a variety of burritos to select from. We usually order online and pick it up. It is never crowded when we do our pick up and the food is always hot delicious. I have never dined in, but online pick-up is easy and convenient!“
