Won't order from here anymore. We loved them for our wedding & kept going back, but the last couple times we used them we were not happy. First I'll start off with our fail of a gender reveal cake. It was hard. So not fresh. Which isn't the first time we received a hard cake from them. We cut into the cake and there was NO COLOR. They put the tiniest amount of color in the very center. So that was a waste of money and trip to the bakery because the video did not show any blue, thanks for ruining that special moment for us. Secondly, we got a cake that had an over powering taste of almond extract flavor.. how & why was it that over powering. So with the flavor not being on point, cake not being fresh, and them not providing a simple colored cake I will not be traveling over an hour to them again.

One of the WORST experiences I have had during the wedding planning prosses and probably my whole life! We tried calling them for about 3 months before we gave up and then personally went to the location to schedule our cake tasting (they never answer emails btw). Once at the cake tasting, we were told to sit at a tiny table in the front area of the shop. A lady then came out and said, "Hi I'm here for your consultation, what kind of cake do you want". We were confused because we came for a 'cake tasting'. She then just gave us a photo book and said, "Look through this we will talk price later because it changes depending on design" without any kind of: "This is the base model" or "This is an example of what is included". We eventually picked a base cake we liked, then got our samples and left. We tried the. marble cake that night and when we cut it open we found 90% white cake (which was good and fresh) with 10% chocolate cake (which was extremely horrible - super dry - like it had been made a few days before the white part. Our full chocolate cake....was the EXACT SAME as the chocolate "mixed" into the marble. My other half got ahold of them and told them what happen, asked them to maybe remake our samples and the lady told him it would be the same result (as in unwillingness to even try to find out why/what went wrong) AND then told him the reason we didn't know what to expect was "because we had never been there before". Last time I checked (and asked at least 10 other people) MARBLE CAKE is a mix of the 2 batters and then made as one cake. Not a weird Frankenstein cake. I have had store cake that tasted better! I would have liked to privately and nicely solve the problem as we tried to do, instead, I have to put it in a review. Needless to say, the only thing they proved to me is that they DO NOT care about the feedback they get regardless of the "we will find out what went wrong" comments left here.Below is what the cake we were given looked like compared to the amazing cake we got elsewhere.

I would definitely recommend Bakers of Buffington! Ordering was easy, the customer service was great and when it came down to designing the cake, they knew exactly what to do. I sent in a few ideas and they really went above and beyond. The cake was for my nephew and it came out better than I could have imagined. The cake artists are talented and extremely creative. I made this order from Texas and they were willing to deliver it as well. I am so pleased! Thank you for making such a beautiful cake. We will never forget it!

If you are planning a wedding my suggestion is you ask for everything to be put in writing back for what you pay for. Their cake was perfect, flavors fantastic...but other items not done correctly. With no direct correspondence but verbal; it is time it should get changed.

Bakers never disappoints! My daughter was having hip surgery on her birthday so we asked for a picture of a hip on her cake, didn’t expect the outcome. Her orthopedic surgeons were raving about the detail and commenting about how they used the icing to show all the features. I simply showed them a picture…. Oh yeah, and the cake was delicious as always!
I ordered a cake for my niece’s baby shower. It was absolutely delicious! It was just as I ordered after providing a picture of what we wanted! The staff there was helpful and so kind. Everybody wanted to know where I bought the cake!

If you are spending over $50 on a cake. The person answering the phone shouldn’t act like it’s a bother you are calling them!If you can’t find a person that isn’t rude when taking your order then go to an online ordering service.You loosing business because of her attitude.Downingtown is a small town and people talk!Cake was great, but the woman that answers the phone was miserable.
My husband is a cake snob and this is his favorite bakery by far. Their yellow cake with chocolate buttercream is the best —We’ve lived all over the country and we’ve never had a “must go to” bakery until we found this one!

Just had cakes from Bakers of Buffington for my granddaughters first birthday and my great nephews birthday. We got cakes here years ago when our kids were young, and they still bake delicious cakes! They were extremely accommodating, and made a delicious egg free smash cake for my granddaughter. They also welcomed inspiration photos with the party theme, and designed beautiful cakes for my grandaughter's birthday. Thank you for helping to make her birthday celebration a success!

Cake was good itself. Customer service was poor… after ordering a simple cake that was nearly $60 the person taking the order seemed as if we were a bother and sighed at the picture that was shown of the cake we wanted… again which was fairly easy. Overall cake looked great and was nice & moist but would have been a better experience if the workers werent so bothered that people want to order a cake.

Bakers of Buffington made us a bridal shower cake and exceeded any expections that we had. We sent in a picture of the invitation for insirpation and we received a cake that was beyond delicious and could not have been more beautiful! All the guests asked where the cake was from because of how much they loved it! Thank you so much for helping make the day so much sweeter!

We have been fortunate to use Bakers of Buffington for the last 30 years. The cake is always perfect and not just the taste, the decorations are beautiful. Their carrot cake is to die for and we also get a yellow cake with raspberry filling and lemon buttercream icing. We can not say enough good things about this business and the owner is wonderful.
