Enjoyed our meal, everything was good but the flounder tasted like bacon so it's a good thing I'm not vegetarian. The wait staff came off as inattentive but my understanding is they were new. The bar side was dark and the music was right off my playlist, exactly what I would want. We sat in the dining room which was bright and well decorated. We will definitely be back.
Great Food, great Atmosphere
We are always on the look out for local spots that have great chicken wings and French Onion soup so we were psyched to hear Beaver Creek Tavern about 6 minutes off Route 30 in Downingtown supposedly id one of the best. Walking into the tavern felt like you went back in time. Place was small and charming. The bartender was great considering she was the waitress too and for a Thursday afternoon, the place was jumping. The warning sign about DUI suggested this is a place where heavy drinking goes down and one table was obliging as they slammed Long Island iced teas at lunch. Clearly this spot prioritizes the cooks over the customers as it opens at noon but no food orders are allowed until 12:15. The French Onion soup was ok, the wings were not well done like I asked but were tasty and a nice size with a good buffalo sauce. Plenty of celery and blue cheese too. No beer list but they had non alcoholic Heineken. Overall it was okay, not worth a return visit.
Gluten free salmon was delicious.
Easy 5 stars. The French onion soup does NOT disappoint. Not meant as a negative, it wasn't anything special. Just classic French onion done well. Get the tater tots over the fries. I was not a fan of the fries but the tots looked great. My brisket sandwich was very good. Smoke flavor really came out. I'm not a fan of pretzel rolls, but it was very good. To bad it was to chilly this winter evening to enjoy the outside dining, but great atmosphere. Service was good and was nice to dine in the dining room.
The best shepherd’s pie I’ve had in years! French onion soup was awesome. Our waitress was so fun, it was infectious on the whole place, and created a really fun place to eat-everyone talked to each other. Service was great. Will definitely come again!

Really like this place. Been there a few times now abd the food is really good, the service is also really good. It has the look and feel of a local bar with local folk, but whenever I was there is was filled with nice, friendly people.

Dropped in first time after golf. The staff are wonderful, Diane is an amazing bartender and wonderful woman. The Bison burger in soft pretzel roll is to be savored. Thank you, I'll be back... ( my best Arnold)

Wow, Heather the bartender was absolutely perfect! It was obvious the other customers felt the same way about her. The food was also great and it's a classic pub setting, but I think Heather adds a lot to why people love the place and why they have so many regular customers. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The 5 star bartenders Heather and Dean keep this local gem fun and professional, you rarely see any riff raff, and the food and service is always fast and of the best quality.

Great service and good food. Drove by a few times and always said we should stop in, didn’t disappoint!
After a long day enjoying Longwood Gardens, we were tired and super hungry. After reading the reviews, we decided to give Beaver Creek Tavern a try and we were happy we did!! The service was outstanding, the food delicious, and the other tavern goers welcoming. I wish we lived closer so we could come back more frequently, but will definitely be back the next time we’re in Downingtown!
