Nalan Indian Cuisine - Downingtown

Spoilt food. I am a regular here and pick up lunch meals often. Food was consistently good until yesterday. Sambar was spoilt and straight away smelled obnoxious. I get it that items like sambar are not made fresh daily but the owners and the chef should have the basic human courtesy to check for quality before selling it. Taste can be off but quality is non negotiable. It is sad that an indian restaurant with good name in the area is going down the drain like this. Never ordering here again.

Missing proper chef; very mediocre Biryani. Very crowded seating arrangements. Not suitable for 2 people; family of 4+ treated better.

Food was good but too spicy even though we set the spice level. The server did bring some yogurt to help with the spice level. The weird part was the almost demand that we leave a Google review. Overall, I've had better, I've had worse. This place is pretty middle of the road.

We were excited to order a pothi parotta but it came out below average. The Kiran was bland and the side they gave for spice was meh. The sambar and chutney for tiffin was decent. doubt if I’ll go there again. We pay $$ for Indian food and it’s bad when the food is disappointing.

Overall great experience, food was good.My friends enjoyed appetizer, main course and a desert ( compliment from owner for New Year). We will come again!!

Only one point to share was we were little disappointed with Dosa we ordered. It was lacking salt and the masal was not great. Something the chief needs to pay attention too.

I will start with the positive: friendly staff, they covered a lot of the traditional items served during a Sadya. It was a fun atmosphere to enjoy the food. Place was clean and tidy.
Feedback for reference and future events:
Please train the staff to serve food in the proper order and the proper position in the banana leaf. Since it’s a festival meal, there is a proper protocol you should follow. Some training should have been provided to the staff regarding this. The Manager of the facility should have taken responsibility to ensure it was done the right way.

This new best restaurant.. food is awesome and everything thing we ordered is perfectly spiced..

It’s been two years we eat and order food from here and so far they kept food quality as it is.

Vegetarian options: Today is the pre ganspati day so we opted vegetarian menu. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of food.

A pretty good Indian restaurant with good service.

The place is clean and has a call atmosphere.

The food is good, though I felt it missed perfect marks just by a bit. But the moong dal halwa was perfection, just the best .

The staff were very courteous and helpful.

P.S They sometimes have a robot/vehicle which delivers food. Mainly used to send and keep the takeout orders by the door

Best food ever, best service ever, they are so kind and friendly. They check in and make sure you are taken care of. I’ve been here twice this week. I highly recommend!!!!! Will be here again soon :)
