When we are within 15-20 miles of it we head to this place..as we live 67 miles away..but today we went there and it was gone. The best BBQ Brisket Sandwich of any place we have ever been to. I really can tell you thinking about it 5 hours later I genuinely feel sick at the thought of Hickory Kitchen going down. I really dont know what to do to make myself feel better right now. My heart first goes out to Mike and the entire crew there. Hickory Kitchen was truly a unique gem in the heart of Doylestown. They fundamentally understood barbecue and not only what makes it delicious - but what makes it genuine. Eating there was more than just a meal - it was a trip down south to anywhere true southern cuisine exists - Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, wherever. Best BBQ I have had in the Tri-State area, BBQ in NJ, the state I used to live in, was severely lacking and most places didn't even smoke their meat! As someone whose family is from the Low Country and dead center Texas, this place hits the spot!
