I had one of the traditional red pizza slices and a steak sandwich with everything. The steak sandwich was small but good. The price was even better. Make sure to bring cash.

The pizza is good for something different. People are friendly and we like to stop by for a frosted glass of beer which hits the spot on warm days.

Cebula’s Pizza & Bar, located on Main Street in Dupont, Pennsylvania is a small, time-honored establishment offering customers sandwiches and chicken bites; however, the place is best known for their distinctive pizza.

We arrived around 6:45 on an early Friday evening and were unaware of just where to enter. There was a back door used only for pizza pick-up, a side door (which we didn’t realize we could use), and a front door that opens upon the bar area. We made our way through those enjoying their beverages and entered the dining room, where there were plenty of tables available.

The dining area is old and tired, boasting functionality far more than formality or fanciness. What appeared to be department store July 4th decorations adorned the walls. The booth where I sat was lumpy, and other booths had tape covering rips and tears. Interestingly, some of the booths had doorbell-type buttons that, in the past, were used to alert servers to a customer's needs.

Our server was a very pleasant woman. She took our order, and within minutes, she brought out a piping-hot, 8-cut tray of pizza. Plain cheese pizza is continually made throughout the evening, hence the very fast service. We initially wanted onions on it, but any extra toppings would've resulted in a 45-minute wait.

The pizza had a thin crust, little sauce and loaded with a blend of cheese that gave it a very unique taste. I'm not sure what types of cheese were used, perhaps some American, but the pizza was unlike any other I've had before. Upon further research, I discovered that only two people know the recipe.

The meal was also very heavy. I initially thought that eight cuts wouldn't satisfy us, but there were two cuts remaining when we decided to raise the white flag.

I enjoyed the pizza well enough, but not enough to go out of the way as I recently did just to give it a shot. Still, in the unlikely event I find myself in the area, I wouldn't turn my nose up at an opportunity to dine there. Cebula's appears to be, first and foremost, a neighborhood place (customers knowing to enter the side door to eat instead of the front door is an indication). Although I have no way of knowing, some of the seniors present seemed like regular customers, as well as adults with children. Before leaving, music was playing in the bar with people laughing and mingling about.

Cebula's has a very relaxing, down home environment. Despite the tired state of the dining room, it was clean and the service was very good. It's certainly worth a try for any pizza enthusiast.

This is such a unique and one of a kind pizza place. It has been a Dupont landmark since before I was born in the early 1980's. There really is no way to describe it justly. It's one of those "Have to try it for yourself".

When I was a kid I had this amazing pizza. I remember how creamy the cheese was, the unique flavor of the sauce and dough, it was incredible. And I never had it again for decades, I never knew where I had it, I only remembered the taste and a little bit about the place (I was 5 or so).I've heard people I work with telling me about it and how delicious it was so I ordered a tray to take home.Wouldn't you know it....this was that amazing pizza I had as a child!Incredible!!I'm so glad I found this place again!Hands down, THE best pizza!Expect me back!
