Finally! We found a fabulous stop off 81 from NY to VA. We have had some terrible experiences and this hidden gem was so refreshing. The place is clean and quiet and the family is really nice! Perfect! The little touches like fresh ground pepper on the table and hand cream in the restroom made this place really special. We will be adding this to our map every trip!

I feel so fortunate to have found this little slice of heaven. It is in the plaza that is next to the Walmart in Pittston. The atmosphere is so clean and relaxing. The staff is attentive and appreciative. The food,... The food is absolutely amazing. They have a dish called commodore cane chicken. It's their take on general tso's chicken. And it is the best you've ever had. I highly recommend that if you were in the area you stop by and grab something to eat. Everything is made fresh and they give nice large portions as well.

I have always liked Chef’s Corner food. Lately, the quality of food is AWFUL. Truffle fries (according to the gentleman that answered the phone) are supposed to have shaved Parmesan & shaker Parmesan cheese. The Truffle Fries that I got barely had shaker Parmesan cheese, never mind a slice of shaved. Large Caesar salad was no where near a large. They put the chicken in a separate container which is fine but threw the salad dressing in without closing the cap on it. As soon as I picked up the dressing it spilled all over my hand, the side of the container & counter. I didn’t have enough dressing for my actual salad. Spending almost $40 for that food is an absolute joke.

I had the absolutely pleasure today to find this gem of a place!! The owner (I think) was so kind to tell me he and his staff have been praying for NC, after seeing my license plate. It touched me so much! It was our anniversary and he brought us a special appetizer that was absolutely to die for! The General Tao Chicken Bowl. WOW, just WOW! I will definitely be stopping by again the next time I head north on Highway 81! Thank you SO much for a perfect lunch break!

Good amount of food for the cost. Friendly, but difficult to change the order.
The food is pretty good, but the employees seemed almost depressed to me. I had to beg for a container to take half of my cheesesteak home with me. The employee wanted me to pay for a plastic container which I was willing to do. Then he told me the plastic container would be too flat for my sandwich and didn’t want to sell it to me. I told him I was from out of town and needed a better container, but it was not going to happen in here for me. Why are they so stingy with their containers?
Bring your own container if you ever want to take anything home with you. I did finally did get one of those nasty white styrofoam containers from him, but it broke as soon as I got back into the car. Most places will ask if you need a container when you have leftovers…not in here. No one even came to our table except to bring the food….that was it. However, they were willing to chat with their friends, and one another…just not us.
There's a bad vibe in here and I believe I know what it is. I had convinced my boss C.C., had great reviews so we stopped in today for lunch. Bobby’s, just down the street, is ten times better in every-way. However, Bobby’s is closed on Sunday. I’m going to pray for C.C… they really need it. Sorry, I wanted to like you until you decided to treat this customer the way you did today. The customer service is absolutely terrible.

They must have been having a bad day. First and never will return. Took for ever for our food and the cook only complained. The fries are amazing my sandwich tastes of parsley and hardly any chicken. It was mostly bread. My husband had a general cho chicken egg roll and had no chicken in it. Very disappointing because of the high reviews.

If you are traveling, get OFF the highway and get some quality, delicious meals. We had the Cajun Mac n Cheese with beef. The Generals chicken was a much healthier version than the local take out store with fresh broccoli and the Frankie sandwich with sweet potato fries. We dined in, but the portions are large, so we had to box them to go.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch while traveling on 81. The reviews were very good, so we thought we'd try it. I had the roast beef dip with fries; the roast beef was very tender and tasty and the fries were delicious. My husband had the cod sandwich which he said was also very good, and he loved the fries (he's usually very picky about fries). We will definitely be returning because of the food and service and it's close to a halfway point on our frequent trips from northern NY to Northern VA. Thank you, Chef(s)!!
