WORST PIZZA! I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HERE EVER AGAIN!!!
I first ordered a pizza from Merlino's about ten years ago when I first moved into the neighborhood. I remember not liking it, and making a mental note to NEVER order from there again.
But tonight I decided to give them a second chance. Their location is so convenient. I thought, maybe it'll be good. Maybe it's improved over the years. IT HAS NOT!
The pizza I ordered for pickup was SOGGY--because the jalapeño peppers came from a JAR, and were not fresh!
Jarred jalapeños are VERY WET, and should NEVER be used on pizza!!! They will make it soggy every time. Any decent restaurant would know this and would use FRESH jalapeños on their pizza!
Fresh jalapeño peppers also taste so much better--with the added benefit of NOT making your pizza SOGGY and DISGUSTING!
It was difficult to even pick up a slice of the pizza because it was so wet that the sauce, cheese, and jalapeños were all sliding off!!!
In addition to the disappointment of ingredients from a jar, the pizza itself had a BAD FLAVOR, and tasted smoky and burned--like it had baked in the same oven with something else that had burned, but hadn't been cleaned up, causing it to absorb the burned taste.
I often believe in giving restaurants a second chance, but I definitely REGRET ordering from Merlino's tonight.
I will drive a little farther next time and get my pizza from Pasquale's or Bishop's. Both places have excellent pizza.

I’ve recently started ordering from this pizza shop a couple months ago and it is by far my favorite pizza place to order from. They never disappoint from the amazing, hot pepper cheese balls and cheese sticks to the delicious hoagies, wings and pizza. I have never once been disappointed from anything that I have ordered from this place. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Pizza arrived with no toppings on it, they had all slid off. Pepper jack cheese balls were overcooked and honey mustard was missing. Buffalo chicken pizza was drenched in so much hot sauce it was physically inedible to eat. Don’t do it.

This place has made really delicious pizzas in the past. Their dough and sauce are stellar. But when it comes to completing an order recently, pizzas have been so disappointing. My husband actually drove our pizza back to the shop and received only bad attitude. Let me be clear, i dont want a free pizza or a discount, I just want my order to be right..like it has been in the past...thats it. The shop normally is heavy on cheese and light on sauce, so I order light cheese w/ extra sauce (my preference). The last few orders, we got good cheese but not enough sauce. Ok, not what I ordered but it was good enough. Our order tonight? Almost NO cheese on the pie, but finally enough sauce. Are the staff just trying to be assholes? I know the owner wouldn't allow the pizza we got to go out the door. Just really disappointed, this used to be my fave pizza.

Great food good pizza one of the few places you can get a gyro pizza from and the owner is a good fair guy if you have any issues with your order just let him know respectfully and he will do his best to make sure you have a good experience
Hands down, no contest, by far the most delicious Strombolis and Calzones anywhere in the world! Merlinos is lucky to have the most naturally gifted pizza chef ever! If you want a Stromboli that will quite literally change your life, go to Merlinos, and ask for BROOKLYN as your chef!!! Whatever you order, as long as BROOKLYN makes it, will be the best you've ever had!!!

Wasn't the cheapest calzone but I promise it's worth it I got there pepperoni large and it was more than enough for 3 meals. Little over 20 bucks. I would recommend at least a try at it. Good service too.

This amazing hole in the wall joint makes me proud of my home town. Been eating Merlinos since before I can remember. I always suggest new people here & always hear great things back. I bring their pizzas to all work parties, etc. and EVERYONE LOVES IT. Food never disappoints and there’s nothing like Merlinos. I say best in the burgh.
