I traveled away from home for a mini-vacation and ended up staying not far from this ice cream shop. I was excited to go because of all the recommendations I received. It was close to closing but it wasn’t closing time by time the time my boyfriend and I made it about 15 minutes before closing. There was a line so I stood there with my boyfriend in the store with everyone else. The cashier took everyone’s order in line but when she got to me her bubbly personality that I witnessed while waiting changed. It dropped and she scowled and said “we’re close.” I was literally so stunned I couldn’t speak for a moment. I will add, I was the only person who was a different race than everyone else in line. My boyfriend who is white immediately said “but you just took everyone else’s order and we waited over 10 minutes in this line.” She was adamant that they wouldn’t scoop anymore ice cream so I asked if I could at least get an already made ice cream sandwich. I was so excited to try it out I just wanted something. I am on the spectrum so it took me sometime to realize that what that cashier did was aggressive, hurtful and I’m pretty sure racist. By the time I got back to the AirBnb to eat my ice cream sandwich my appetite was gone. Once it dawned on me what she did and how rude she went about it, I didn’t want the ice cream. Which breaks my heart to this day because it’s literally been over a year since I traveled to the area. I wasn’t going to say anything but as I’m getting older I realize I have to call out bad behaviors because it’s not right and it needs to change so someone else isn’t hurt due to personal bias. I’m sorry I didn’t come forward back in April 2023. I should have said something then. Hopefully the worker is no longer there and I hope it was just her personal racism and not something that’s a culture of that job.

The ice cream here good, but it is very dense. I would not recommend getting a lot of ice cream, it is impossible to eat. Very creamy ice cream, and good flavors. I personally might describe this as more of a gelato store (I did not try the gelato), just because it seems like they specialize more with it. The staff was very friendly, and I loved the interior. If you do stop by, please bring water! The ice cream leaves you extremely thirsty. (This is not an exaggeration)

The icecream, milkshakes, and gelato here are amazing. The staff is almost always friendly. However, I find that every time I go, the price of what i get almost every time is a different price than was is displayed on the menu boards. It’s typically higher by 1-3 dollars. That’s ridiculous.

Ice cream flavors are numerous, but I’m not a fan of “chewy” ice cream. The place was immaculate, the servers friendly. The eating area was more cafeterialike than parlor-like… noisy and undecorated.

Very cool olde timey place. Very pleasantly surprised to see gelato! Usually when you walk into an ice cream shop that has this sheer volume of flavors it can be a little intimidating with the staff anxious to take your order to keep things moving, but they were surprisingly chill and relaxed. It made the whole experience that much more enjoyable.
It was a little dimly lit, almost as dark as the dining room of a restaurant, compared to the bright lights of an ice cream parlor but I can hardly knock that. Overall it was a great experience and a very fun time with some amazing ice cream and gelato! Would definitely go back.
