Driving between NYC and Dulles Airport in Northern VA on a Sunday AM, we stopped at the inviting 248 Diner which was near our intended route and in an area famous for their diners and hearty foods. Greeted by the helpful host, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. After 10 minutes, a booth opened up, and we were home free! We ordered the traditional Eggs benedict (delicious!) and 2 Poached with potatoes and toast (also delicious!) Relatively reasonably priced, given the current state of the economy, we enjoyed prompt, attentive service and the well-prepared, if simple, food. We'll keep this on our list of Easton-area eateries, and would encourage you to do the same.
Warmly greeted on arrival and sat quickly. Service was immediate and friendly, offering good advice on the menu. Turn around from order to eating was less than 10 minutes. Food was great, opting for a chicken bacon melt with avocado and a side of steamed broccoli. I recommend and would revisit again.

We have visited this establishment before and received great food and service. But on this peticular visit, my fiance's chicken in her chicken parm was burnt, literally black underneath. And it was still served to her. We mentioned it to the waitress, and nothing was done. She said she would inform them. But nothing was done, not even a visit by the manager! Very Disappointed!!

There was outside seating to wait. The restaurant took my cell number and texted when a table was available. The server was attentive and friendly. We had the French dip and the pumpkin pancake special. Plenty of food with both meals.

It's a bar/diner so grading based on that. It's not supposed to be a 5 star restaurant. Food is fresh has great flavor soups are outstanding, wings best in Lehigh valley. The service is quick and accurate. Meals are consistently good. Best diner/ bar in the area. If you're looking for a quick meal that is quality this is the place.

it makes me sad writing this. I'm giving 3 stars because I've never had a bad experience until today, and today was a 1 star day, for me and my friend.
so, they gave us one menu for the two of us, which we thought was weird.
we asked our server for a few minutes to look over said menu and she came back 60 seconds later so we had to keep asking her to come back and she seemed annoyed.
we ordered our food- i got a taylor ham, egg & cheese without the bread I asked for a hard egg, not fried, a side of tater tots. my friend got the meat lovers omelet, NO SAUSAGE because it makes her sick (we specified that a few times) with a side of tater tots.
our food comes, I was given a fried egg, barely, and her omelet was filled with sausage. she spent most of the time picking out the sausage and I said screw it and ate the egg bc our server seemed annoyed with us. our food was 14.99 each, for half an egg, one piece of Taylor ham and like 3 slices of mozzarella cheese. it wasn't very good at all. and she spent all her time picking out sausage.
honestly I think we didn't know what would happen if we did send it back.
we also were asked if we needed a box maybe 20 minutes into our visit and looking at our plates, we clearly did not need boxes yet. really terrible service.
neither of us have ever had a bad experience. it's one of our favorite places to go when we're out this way. I see a lot of doctors in Allentown/Bethlehem and I usually stop here with my mom afterward or my friends after musikfest. today was a total bust. I understand everyone has bad days that's why I'm giving 3 stars for the other absolute stellar experiences I've had.
I left not feeling well afterward and usually I leave with a big smile on my face and in my belly.
the best part was the time I got to spend with my friend, that's always a blessing.
Anyway.
if you go, I hope you have a great experience, and don't order what we did because it's a waste of money and not very good.
they also don't have any gluten free options, which is kind of a letdown. you'd think since it's 2025 gluten free bread would be a sub.
