We went for brunch. We got seated quickly and our server was extended friendly and service was good throughout. We both enjoyed our meals and the drinks were good as well. Overall everything was good and we have no complaints.

This is one of my wife's favorite places. The food is always good and great atmosphere

We went for dinner this week with friends and it was fantastic. The food was very good (we had the lamb, lobster pasta, duck and steak/frites). Drinks were so good and the wine choice was excellent. Service was very attentive but not intrusive and the entire experience was great. Highly recommend.

Lovely spot but disappointing. I'd eaten at Maxim's a couple years ago and had a better experience but it seems to have slipped. In brief - the ambiance is good, the food is decent and the service poor.Lovely spot and well decorated. Feels like you're in Paris. Bar is nice and they have a great back room for cocktails. We went on a Tuesday night and it wasn't very crowded, but they seated everyone in the same corner of the restaurant. Not sure why but I would have appreciated a little more space.I had the steak frites and my friend had the lobster ravioli. Both were good but my steak was very very rare instead of medium. Our salads were mediocre at best. I had a caesar which looked and tasted like it was leftover from the previous day. Extremely beat up and wilted. I'd asked if they used anchovies in the caesar salad and was told they didn't. Wrong! It definitely had anchovy in the dressing.Wine selections were good.Biggest negative for me was the service. Instead of menus they left a stack of six xerox printouts on the table. More than five minutes for waitress to approach the table for drink orders. Delivered wrong orders to our table. Didn't check back in at any point during the meal to see if we needed anything. I had to flag someone down to get a refill on wine. Waitress cleared my friend's plates when I was only half way finished, then left takeout boxes on the table (you wait until everyone is finished). It felt like bad diner service. I know there are staffing problems these days, but the wait staff had no idea what they were doing. Management is ultimately at fault for not training them properly and overseeing the service on the floor.I'm fine with bad service at a cheap place, but our meal at Maxim's was $90 per person without dessert. It was disappointment.

Doesn’t give you an atmosphere of a fine dining, way way too deemed, interior and layout are outdated. Appetizers were pretty good. Not sure how everyone’s dishes were , but my seafood risotto was a mess. Expected that creamy light flavorful and blended dish and got a huge plate of rice with over cooked seafood and not so great flavors. My toddlers chicken was rubbery. Crème Brûlée was perfect, though. Very very overpriced food.

Went for my birthday , food was excellent, desert was excellent too.Waiter was top notch. The only issue was that we were freezing the whole time and they had fans on , during the winter mind you.Not sure if I will be going back unless they turn the fans off during the winter and put the heat on.

I’d say unremarkable but unremarkably poor is more appropriate.Mushroom bisque was unremarkable.Brie was ok, but not to the standard expected… maybe 1 step up from Applebee’s.Beef bourguignon was greasy, lacking flavor, mushy at best; not tender and distinctive. The side of 4 veggies were the star of this lackluster dish.Steak frites - outside over cooked, inside undercooked. Fries were limp, dry.Overall, the meal tasted like poorly reheated leftovers. The waitress and the blueberry gimlet (tho subpar lime pieces used) was nice, hence 2 stars while the rum and coke was flat and poorly balanced. Also, watching waiters cut and handle bread with dirty hands is disgusting and speaks volumes for food handling standards throughout the establishment.

I remember everything being so much better there as far as food goes to drinks or terrific and they've gotten very pricey. $63 for a strip steak. I asked for medium. Well just a little blood in my hamburger with no bread. No onions, just cheese, bacon and meat. And the only thing I did not get was the bread that I requested. Everything was on there and was super dry and well we'll done.I mean it's 22 oz steak but $63 still that's a lot of money. I haven't been here in a long time.I know everybody's feeling the fluctuating costing food and materials but I probably won't go back here based on the prices

Maxims 22 is awesome! We have had a few good experiences here, but the most recent and best one was for the dinner we hosted at Maxims for our wedding reception!Everyone was super professional, especially considering that the hours changed between the time we booked and the time of the party. The food was amazing. We had duck three ways, steak, and salmon. Each was delicious! The chocolate bonbon was easily the best of the desserts - we'll certainly be going back for more!In summary, service was great, food was great, drinks were great, and everyone was happy! Thanks Maxims 22 - you can certainly expect us back.Dietary restrictions: They accommodated one vegan guest and one guest with a legume allergy with no problems!! I was hoping the vegan guest wouldn't just be given a garden salad, and they weren't. I believe their dish had butternut squash? They loved it!

I don't typically do reviews, but I felt compelled enough to post for future patrons. While the presentation of the food is lovely, the food took over an hour and the waitress brought us our bill before we had even gotten the food. Food itself was nothing special. Do yourself a favor and skip this experience.

Excellent apps and wine selection. Really liked the escargot and fresh oysters. The entrees were disappointing though - especially compared to the first time we were there about 3 months ago. Steak was burnt/charred, which really hurt the flavor, and the duck fat hashbrowns were overcooked.

It was fine. I don't mind paying for a decent lunch, but the quantities and flavour were excessive for the price. The server was cold, which ruined the experience for me. The restaurant was good, but based on the website, we expected a more private environment. It wasn't the worst eating experience I've ever had, but it was far from ideal. I'd give it three stars, but I wouldn't return.

Too expensive for what was on the menu! Not a good variety of food! Service was horrible! I worked in the rest business for 18 years, I worked very hard! The waitress didn't come and ask if we needed more drinks, or ask how was everything! I think you need to change some good choices, and definitely lower the prices! Our bill definitely wasn't worth $175.00!!! Very disappointed!!!

Maxim's does not live up to its food 'reputation', at all. Or perhaps, my expectations were too high. At the very least, even when the food is not up to par, the service should always be good. Both food and service were mediocre, especially for supposedly "French" cuisine. We made a reservation and we were seated immediately. Let's begin with the AWFUL service, from our server, Peter. He spent the evening ignoring us, until we had to flag him down each time just to ask for more water (because it was not offered, though our glasses were visibly empty). Our orders took unusually long to come and at no point did Peter stop by our table to check in or tell us the food's on the way soon, nothing. Instead, he constantly walked by, back and forth. In fairness, I don't know if he only singled us out because I noticed he was not very attentive to ovther surrounding tables either. Even when it was time to pay, he gave us the check and never came back!! Who does that? Don't you WANT to be paid? We just had to laugh at it after a while to prevent it from completely ruining our time. On to the food, I was looking forward to the duck. The menu online, for some reason, did not match the menu we were given at the table. But, the duck was still there - only offered in 3 ways (as a whole dish). Duck confit, duck breast, and duck sausage *drowned* (no exaggeration) in beets. I love beets just as much as the next beet lover, but this was excessive - as if the chef may have been trying to cover up some apparent inconsistencies in the dish. The duck sausage was completely burnt! Not charred for flavor, no - it was burnt. So much so that each time I went for a fork full, it crumbled. It was flavorless crumbly mush. The duck breast - while cooked to the perfect medium well temperature - had absolutely no seasoning. That was disappointing! I expected better, at a French inspired restaurant. The duck confit was perfect. Absolutely perfect and the only redeeming part of the dish. Still, not enough to incline a repeat visit. My meal went from horrible (duck sausage), to eh (duck breast), to yum (duck confit). I don't think it is far-fetched to expect to enjoy ALL of my food. Duck 3 ways only delivered in 1 way. I also had the 'sweet summer child' cocktail which was overly flavored with cucumber, it masked the other flavors/ingredients in the drink. My friend was able to take advantage of their 'restaurant week' menu. We shared his appetizer of escargot. Now this was unforgivable - I have had much better escargot on cruise ships. And that is not to discredit cruise cuisine. But again, French cuisine - you'd expect this restaurant to nail the escargot. It was just okay, no flavor profile, just a green drizzle around the plate which did not add much to the dish, but it did help the dry/charred bread that came with it. We also shared a dessert - creme brulee. Horrible! Seriously, the best part was the beautiful crackling sound when we cracked the top with our spoons. The creme underneath was watery/loose. You can easily tell it hadn't set long enough, it had no firmness to it. So it just tasted gritty. Yuck! Everything was an overpriced and underwhelming experience. The awful service made everything that much more worse. Do better, Maxim's! I would not recommend this restaurant.

Charcuterie was good and enough for two people. However, the rack of lamb was 2 scrawny chops on a bed of greens and potatoes. And something very spicy. Didn't taste good at all and over priced.
